Symbolism

Pieta - Franz Von Stuck
I'm going to start with something that i love - art. I've recently started finding out more, with the help of a couple of books i asked for for Christmas, 'Isms' by Stephen Little and '50 Artists you should know' by Thomas Koster and Lars Roper, about Symbolism. I've really fallen in love with some artists' work. For instace, Jean Delville, whose 'The School of Silence' is my background both on my desktop and this blog right now. I was hoping to find a large enough image of 'Forgetting Passions' as i'm really in the mood for a starry night, however it was not to be :/. I've also become a fan of Lucien Levy-Dhurmer, Fernand Knopff, and then there's Puvis de Chavannes - i'm a bit on and off with his work, however it's definetly intriguing and there's some bits i love. And then there's Gustave Moreau and Franz Von Stuck whose works i've been a fan of for a while. I can't wait to have my own place one day (i'm 17) that i can decorate with all my favourite artists, whether it will be big enough for all the things i want it remains to be discovered though haha x
