Whilst flicking through my Grandad's copy of the Financial Times' 'How to Spend it' magazine when we (as in my family) were all round at his house yesterday, i came across this photoshoot celebrating the Aesthetic Movement of the 19th century. Bonnie Wright, who plays Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter series, is the model in the photos that are reminiscient of Dante Gabriel Rossetti's paintings. I've never found Bonnie Wright particularly beautiful, but with her pale skin and red hair, she looks great with bright red lips and her chin and mouth that i find let her down in terms of her looking classically beautiful (don't mean to sound like a bitch! She's pretty gorgeous) are in keeping with the oddly and distinctively masculine women of Rossetti's artwork. It appears i'm not though only one who finds Rossetti's women quite bizarre. This is what LS Lowry had to say about them:
I don’t like his women at all, but they fascinate me, like a snake. That’s why I always buy Rossetti whenever I can. His women are really rather horrible. It’s like a friend of mine, you know, who says he hates my work, although it fascinates him. He’s got seven pictures of mine.
Here's the description that introduces the collection in the magazine:
Capturing the languor of Rossetti's paintings, actress Bonnie Wright embodies the liberated spirit of the Aesthetic Movement in lustrous, flowing gowns.

I also wanted to include a few examples of the way Bonnie Wright does herself up for the red carpet and photoshoots. I think she looks gorgeous in these. She seems to have very good style.
On another note, i've just finished watching the third episode of 'The Promise', which is a 4-part series shown on Sundays at 9pm on channel 4. If you haven't already, i highly recommend checking it out on 4od. It's in a different league to all these other dramas you get on tv.
Lots of love
