Treehouses

Hi everybody! Sorry for not having written a post in a while; i'm just loaded down with coursework, reading for my coursework and more essays that have nothing to do with coursework that we're supposed to do in preparation for our exams in June. Too much, too much i tell you! Doesn't help that i don't even know where to start with it all. Most of the time i'm just sitting, looking blankly at pages upon pages of information or at the google homepage wondering how the heck one mediocre, 18-year-old girl is supposed to be able to tackle all this stuff that is way above me. Anyway, it shall be delt with! Somehow. I fear i'm in for successive late nights and frequent coffee overloads. And ulcers, colds, headaches and watery, red eyes - these are the symptoms i suffer from through lack of sleep. God i'm gonna be an absolute zombie by the end of this term!

ANYWAY. For fear that i would forget this dear blog of mine forever, i thought i'd do a quick post on treehouses. One of my life's ambitions is to live in one of these babies. I love trees as it is (along with everything else nature-related), so living in one for any amount of time would be an absolute dream. When i was around 15 i took part in the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme (not for the 'team skills' like it's supposed to be about haha - it was for the walking and camping! Aaah, two of my favourite things). On the first day we were told that if we managed to follow the map correctly then we should come across a camp of peaceful protestors that were living in the forest to stop it being either sold or chopped down - i can't remember exactly. Anyway, we did manage to do so, and their camp was wicked. It was empty when we passed by, but i saw they'd built primitive treehouses with tents here and there on the ground aswell. There was a campfire with empty pots and pans placed around it, and as we walked further we found a brightly coloured, striped toilet tent. As we were leaving the area, we also noticed an old, bright green VW campervan with about 4 early-twenties looking hippie types, one of which was a girl with dreadlocks. They all waved and shouted 'hi' to us as we walked past. I've never forgotten it. Well it wasn't exactly that long ago but it was one of the most memorable things i took from Duke of Edinburgh. If ever i have the opportunity to do something like that, you can be sure i'll accept with little hesitation, circumstances permitting of course. Maaan...if i don't ever get to camp out in a forest i will be soo dissapointed!

I'm ever so sorry about how much of a rant that turned out to be. I really ought to stop apologising though as i do this so often. Anyway, here's a few of my fave treehouse images i've quickly gathered from google images:

How could i forget the Ewoks' home, 'Bright Tree Village' from Star Wars?! Used to love those films.

Dream bedroom - i'm assuming it is in a tree house, and that it has sufficient blinds so that i wouldn't get paranoid about murders climbing up and staring through the windows at me.
Lots of love
Lucy
