Google Books Disappeared From Apple App Store

the application of reading books simply disappeared from Apple's App Store today. From what we know so far, Apple would have every reason in the world to put out the Google Books for its app store. However, only one seems to be more than enough.

The new rules for approval of apps for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad prohibit companies responsible for apps direct users to external sites to promote shopping. For example, a store that sells DVDs through an application would have to do it using the procurement system from Apple - one that passes on to the company led by Tim Cook no less than 30% of the total product.

Google Books, in turn, is the initiative of the internet business so that users can read books by the platform Google purchased eBooks on smartphone/MP3 player / Apple tablet. This same app also allows you to buy new publications. With a sad thing: the transaction does not go through Apple. Instead, it is done through Google's mobile sites.

You can even search, but will not find in the search results within iTunes to 'google books'. The application was summarily smoothed out. At this late date, Google should have received a notification remembering that it is necessary to offer the same transactions (with exactly the same values, at least) in and out of the payment system in-app from Apple.

Interestingly, removal of the Google Books seems to be partial. If you get it on iTunes, will not find, but you can still download the free app through this link. He is still listed in the iTunes apps index published by the Apple website.

The Amazon is still going strong with your application for reading e-books in Kindle iOS. The question is how long, since it is the same that Apple used to possibly remove the Google Books: there are links for shopping on Amazon. And no purchases by the system from Apple. Until when?

Do You Know Google search affects memory usage?

Internet usage does not mean that we are becoming less intelligent,''but we're getting more sophisticated in finding information.

Internet has assumed a prominent place in the circle of friends where people seek information, Sparrow concluded in a study published Thursday by the journal Science on its website.

We used to rely on friends someone who knows everything about baseball or the weather or presidents or movie. People knew who to ask.

If people assume that the data will be easy to find, is more likely to remember where they found the same information as the information discovered. But if you do not think it will be easy to find, is more likely to remember the information itself.

`` It's called transactive memory'', a theory developed some 25 years ago by his co-author, Daniel M. Wegner, of Harvard University, where a group of people collectively stores and retrieves knowledge contributions of each member.

Today is no different, just the computer has become part of the group said. And there are people behind the internet, hence the information, he said. And often more than one source is available, said Sparrow, a professor of psychology at Columbia University.

`` Internet use does not mean that we are becoming less intelligent,''he said, but we are becoming more sophisticated in finding information.

Indeed, the role of the maid did Angela Lansbury in her screen debut.

Tips to accelerate the performance of Windows 7

With a few tricks and some knowledge, you can get the most out of Windows 7, no matter what computer you're using. Here's how.

Windows 7 is at least as fast as Windows Vista. But that's not something to be proud of. You can submit the fastest hardware to Microsoft's latest operating system, and displayed fast enough. But there is always room to improve things. The good news is that with a few tricks and some knowledge, you can get the most out of Windows 7, no matter what computer you're using. Here's how.

Visual Effects

The Windows interface is full of small animations and visual effects, while impressive at first, eventually slowing down the important things. Fortunately, all or almost all visual effects can be deactivated, while keeping the look streamlined Windows 7. In fact, you can disable the visual effects you want and leave the rest.

To do this, open the Start menu and type "appearance." Among the entries that appear will be "Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows." Click that line and Windows 7 will open the Performance Options dialog. Make sure you have selected the Visual Effects tab and uncheck the options that say "lively", "intensity or" slide ", and click OK. Now, windows, dialog boxes and menus appear immediately and not gradually .

User Accounts

The User Account Control (UAC) is the most reviled Windows since its appearance in Windows Vista. Originally designed as a safety resource, CCU monitors the occurrence of potentially damaging changes in the system, asking the user to confirm something that could be a threat. Unfortunately, under the rubric of "potential threat" fall harmless activities such as installing a new application or download a file from the Internet that is known to be safe. Wisely, Microsoft made a little less annoying CCU in Windows 7. But best of all was that made this control was easy to disable.

That is why one of the first things that a smart user to do with Windows 7 is to visit the CCU dialog. To do this, open the Start menu, type "User Account Control" (without quotes of course), and select the screen "Change User Account Settings." In the box that opens, go to the slider at the bottom and move to point "never notice". That will mark the end of the annoyances with the user account control.

Keyboard Velocity

One of the factors that make Windows 7 and other versions of this operating system is slow to feel the speed at which the cursor moves when you press a key. That is why, when you first install Windows, one of the first tasks to be accomplished is to adjust the speed of the keyboard. To do this, open the Start menu and type "keyboard." Click the Keyboard Input Panel Control section, which will open the Keyboard Properties window. There, move the slider "repeat delay" to the "short" position. Click OK, and from now on, Windows will react much faster when you press a letter within any text application.

Waste resources

Windows 7 is loaded with many resources that you probably never use. But if you use them or not, however slow the operating system. Therefore, turn off do not need.

Open the Start menu and type Programs and Features (Vista) or Windows Features (Windows 7). Then click the entry or Off Windows Features to appear. This will open the Windows Features window, where you can disable any application ever used. Among the first candidates are the "Games", the "Indexing Service" and "Gardgets Windows platform."

Maximum Performance

Windows 7 reduces sometimes the performance of certain components in order to save energy. These components are the hard drive and processor. So if you're interested in that PC running at top speed while you are using, you will need to disable power-saving resources. Just open the Start menu and type in "Power Options". Click the input of the same name. In the dialog box that appears, select the "Change advanced power settings" and use this control is to adjust your PC for peak performance at all times.

Google Plus users will be having unlimited capacity in Picasa Albums

Picasa is one of the main image uploading services today online owned by Google. Currently, the system has limits of up to 1 GB for sending files to the virtual albums. Users of the new Google social network Google Plus will be exempt from this limit, and can send pictures and videos without concern about the capacity of the blow account.

Still, there are some constraints on the system. Images larger than 2048 x 2048 pixels will be excluded from the exemption and will count on the limits of 1 GB of Picasa. The same applies to all videos that exceed the 15 minutes.

Picasa users do not have accounts on Google + can only send video with the same duration, but they are all added up to the limit. The size of the images free for those not in the social network is only 800 x 800 pixels, much less than that offered to other users.

Marking in photos
For those who miss the markings of pictures on MySpace and Facebook, Picasa will bring an improvement to Google +. All registrations in the new social network may mark his friends (also registered) to facilitate the location of their profiles in the future.

Purchase space
It is worth noting that Google continues to offer expansion packs available space for photos. For just $ 5 a year, you can buy 5 GB of space. Values grow according to the desired capacity and can reach $ 4,000 (for TB spaces 16).

8 Good Uses for your old computer

With the significant drop in the prices of computers, it is increasingly common to hear reports of people who retires a good computer. They purchase new machines only to join the new version of Windows or to upgrade a little hardware configurations.

Other users have computers because they had simply touching a machine very outdated and needed to replace it with a PC to get a little better using the latest software. In this category we find users who have kept the old Pentium III, AMD Duron, and even the famous Pentium 100.

Maybe you're one of those users who also keeps their old PC in the basement and do not know what to do with it. About a year ago, we posted an article giving some tips to dust the computer and use it for something useful. Now we bring you eight new uses for it was not satisfied with the suggestions of the preceding article.

Test a new operating system
As you might imagine, we in the Tecmundo, we are addicted to computers. Thus, we must encourage the search for new horizons. If you're stuck in Windows since 1995, perhaps using the old PC to see a Linux distribution is an excellent idea.

The smartest suggestion is that you opt for some versions of Ubuntu, that because this is the system with better support and more updated. However, if your old PC does not meet the minimum requirements, maybe a test with another distribution is interesting. Check out now what it takes to run Ubuntu 4.11:

1 GHz or higher (Pentium 4, AMD Athlon or AMD Duron);

512 MB of RAM;
5 GB of disk space;
Video card and monitor capable of operating with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels;
CD / DVD or USB port (to install the system);
Internet access to take advantage of software and updates.

Control your entire home
The first tip is pretty easy to do, but if you seek challenges and really make the most of your PC, our second suggestion is much more daring. Ever wondered control the lights, TV, security cameras and air conditioning system of your home through the computer?

With LinuxMCE is possible and it is not that hard. Despite not having a translation into Portuguese, this system is easy to use and install. The difficulties are in the same time to make the installation of devices to be controlled.

However, if you have some knowledge of English and patience to use the Google translator to help, you can get to automate your entire home. The coolest thing is that LinuxMCE has even some compatibility with smartphones, which can make it much easier to control everything hour in the distance.

Use as a file server
You already have a hub or a router on your home? If the answer is yes, then you will have little trouble creating a file server. Of course, when it comes to server, you do not mean to draw a professional server. The ideal is not wasting much time and find a use for the PC.

So the tip here is to install a basic operating system (either Windows XP or Ubuntu with minimal features turned on), configure the network on that computer and adjust the other PCs on the network to access shared folders on the old machine.

Windows is very easy to create new shares, so if you want to back up important things, but do not want to resort to DVDs, this tip can be very profitable. Details: If you are using Ubuntu for file server, you must install and configure Samba.

Help in a noble cause
You do not need a file server? So maybe you can lend the processing power from your PC to good causes. You can provide the resources of your computer to help in the fight against cancer (IBM research project that is part of World Community Grid), the advancement of nanotechnology (Spinhenge @ home) and even the search for extraterrestrials (SETI project @ home).

Okay, that last question may not be as noble as well, but who really are curious about the possibility of the existence of UFOs, can join this cause. Whatever your choice, you will spend much energy and is a bit of Internet bandwidth. To help in these projects, just use a supported operating system (depending on the project) and install the software you want.

Now you have a digital photo frame
If you retired your notebook, but it's still in perfect working order, maybe you can put it in some corner of the house to display family pictures. The cool thing about using a notebook for this task is that you have a huge range of features.

Unlike a digital picture frame, a notebook can display your pictures, videos, audio recordings and many other memories of his family. Another advantage is that it is possible to make the notebook work with photos from the web. Thus, you do not need to store photo album on your PC, you can enjoy your photos from Picasa or Flickr.

Your old game console
Playing the games of the Playstation 3 is pretty cool, but sometimes an innate yearning for the Atari titles. Transforming your old PC into a gaming platform, you can enjoy one joystick that is not compatible with USB ports and still have fun without spending the life of the new computer.

This tip is the most easy to do, so you only need a basic operating system, an emulator and ROMs. You can check out some emulators in Baixaki, click here and choose your favorite.

Create your online radio
For the amateur DJs and music lovers, nothing better than using the old PC as an online radio station. Although it may seem difficult, this task does not require much effort. Simply use the Winamp plugin Oddcast and Icecast application.

Configuring the Oddcast plugin in Winamp

Install all three programs, set up the Oddcast (within Winamp) to work with Icecast, Icecast server start and then play your music. So your friends can hear your radio simply provide your IP address and port that is configured for transmission.

Detail: a radio at home can not be heard by many users, since the upload rate is limited and therefore restricted his listeners.

Record and watch TV channels from a distance
Our last tip is restricted to users who have an old computer and a capture card retired. If you do not have a TV card, you can purchase one at very low prices on sites like eBay. This tip is very interesting, especially because you can only use the PC as a transmitter of content.

To perform this trick you will need the following programs: Skype and Real VNC. The first step is to configure Skype to use your capture card as a standard webcam. Then you need to create a Skype account so you can stream content to your private account.

Finally, install and configure the Real VNC. With this program you can control your computer remotely. Thus, it is possible to connect the application of the capture card (for the channels), log in to Skype and even record what you want.

You have suggestions?
Our tips end up here, but you can also contribute to other users to make best use of computers that are gathering dust. We know that our explanations are brief, however, are enough to give you an idea of how to proceed. If you have more suggestions, please use the comments field to express themselves. Until the next one!

5 things not to do on Facebook

Here are 5 things not to do when you are using popular social site Facebook.

1) Think Before Making Friends

Want to add to your friends a. ..? Think before you click "confirm".

Fraill did not think. The jury said that empathy led her to locate Jamie Sewart-defendant in a drug-Facebook and later became "friends" with her. The contact came to light in less than a year, Fraill returned to the court, this time on the bench.
Joanne Fraill, jury

The British jury that a defendant contacted through Facebook was sentenced to eight months in prison.

While this is the first case in Britain involving internet is not the first time that Facebook users have chosen the wrong friends and certainly not the last.

However, bad decisions are not always so obvious.

Charlotte Fielder, who was born without a hand unwittingly befriended a man who pretended to Facebook losing a limb but actually felt sexually attracted to amputees.

Soon after, found the profile photo copied and posted on a pornographic website, where comments were obscene.

... Complain about your boss / clients / voters

Before complaining, remember who it is between "friends."

Sounds obvious, but it is surprisingly common.

A woman known as Lindsay, got an update on his condition, "By God, I hate my job!" before launching a personal attack on his boss.

It was a matter of hours before he remembered that his boss was among his "friends."

According to reports, he wrote a reply telling Lindsay that did not bother to show up for work the next day. "You'll find your form of dismissal in your place. And yes, I'm serious," he wrote.

The airline Virgin also filled forms of layoffs after the cabin crew of an aircraft opened a Facebook page and turned to insult passengers joked that the planes were full of cockroaches and the engines were replaced only four times year.

Thirteen employees were fired.

Politicians seem likely to fall into this trap.

A Conservative candidate in Kent, United Kingdom, came to call the local women "whores". In a discussion of Facebook, Payam Tamiz wrote that he wanted a relationship with "someone decent," but it was "impossible to find someone with morals and a little self-respect."

After an apology, resigned.

Upload photos impertinent

Unless you worry about your privacy settings, the shame and embarrassment are almost inevitable in Facebook.

Even the head of British Secret Intelligence Service, John Sawers, failed to keep private matters out of public view.

Photos of the holiday with his wife, including swimsuit Sawers and details about their children and the location of your house came to light.

Although they were removed quickly, it took longer to make them disappear from the collective memory.

Enjoy too sick leave

A woman lost her job when her boss realized that I was using Facebook at home after reporting sick.

If you told a lie or really sick, probably best to stay away from Facebook.

A Canadian woman in the midst of a long leave for depression, lost their benefits when their insurance agent found pictures of her having fun in the sun and long nights with friends.

Nathalie Blanchard had been off of work at IBM in Quebec for a year and said the doctor ordered him to continue his activities as a way to beat depression.

Another woman lost her job when her boss realized that I was using Facebook after he called to say he was too sick to use a computer.

The clerk called the Swiss company, Nationale Suisse, to advise I had a migraine and needed to be in a dark room.

Not avail ensure that accessed the site through your iPhone while in bed.

Revealing secrets

In Facebook you can not talk, exactly, quietly. So it is better that the secrets are limited to the corridors and corners.

The new campaign by the Ministry of Defence to prevent the leakage of information on Facebook is titled "Think before you ...".

Israel was among the first countries to be nervous for the information goes online after reviewing the Facebook pages of their troops to show detailed pictures of air bases, operations rooms and submarines.

A new set of rules, which has not been made public, includes a ban on publishing pictures of pilots and members of special units, and anything that shows specific military maneuvers.

The MoD was also concerned and launched a campaign to alert your staff and your friends and family do not share confidential information.

In a video of the new campaign "Think before you ..." (Released on YouTube to prevent the military from disclosing information on Facebook) is a mother sharing data and having tea with a man covered by a balaclava.

Facebook may be worth more than $ 100 billion

Social network Facebook will probably request for initial public offering (IPO) between October and November, CNBC reported on Monday. The operation can evaluate the site to be worth more than $ 100 billion, according to the channel.

The sale of shares should probably occur in the first quarter of 2012 and the Goldman Sachs appears positioned to be the coordinator of the IPO leader for Facebook.

5 reasons why you lose friends in Facebook

A study by researchers at a U.S. university found the reasons why a person can kill another of his contacts from Facebook.

The survey was conducted from 1,500 users of Twitter and Facebook, and the conclusions of the study, the main reasons why a person fails to follow another in the network are:

1-Too many unimportant messages : friends no longer want to receive updates to the minute of what happens in someone's life.

2-Politics: if you use Facebook to showcase your political objectives it may offend someone.

3-inappropriate messages, whether violent or racist post messages.

4-Behavior in the network: 57% of respondents admitted that remove to a friend by section 3 we have mentioned before, and 26.9% admit to stop following a contact for behavior that is in the network, so if you want to keep friends as you are in real life.

5-social hierarchy, as in real life, there is also a social hierarchy on Facebook. Who makes the request for friendship is more likely to lose a friend, who does not.

Hackers Hacks U.S. Senate page
