In Pixel Mode

Another treat to be found at the 2011 Shoe Fair are these Fae Wedges by Pixel Mode creator Tya Fallingbridge. If you are a lover of great sandals, these are worth the trip. High wedge-like goodness, a beautiful upper with soft ties adorned with beaded accents. Tya has also given us a few clever options, versions A through D of these shoes are variations of the wedge, two tones of wood, wrapped and unwrapped styles. The texture of this foot is hyper real, and to maintain realistic pigmentation the included HUD works a bit differently than some, I recommend using the notecard provided by the designer with instructions, and a list of tones based on popular skin lines, to streamline the process. Shoe Fair 2010: [PM] Pixel Mode

More great new releases found at Shoe Fair, Tya Fallingbridge never lets us down with her incredible creations. Her latest adventure includes the awe inspiring prim foot, and her version of the love 'em or hate 'em feet is really fantastic, realistic skin texture is an understatement. The HUD is easy as heck to use, and she provides a detailed list of skin tones that make getting a match very simple. There are 2 versions of her latest, the Jori, one with a black sole and one in all over color of your choice. You also get many metal color choices for the trimmings, well beyond gold and silver... metallic color is a treat and a smart touch from Pixel Mode.

Tya Fallingbridge is a designer who listens to her customers, so much so that within 24 hours of releasing her latest, the Baby T's from Pixel Mode, she went back to her drawing board and whipped up a variation of the original. Now I have two styles to rave about instead of just one. The original features a built in sock with sweet lace details and delicate ties up the back, not only are these amazingly cute and sexy, but with no need to tint prim feet, they are very wearable.


After requests from her customers to create a sockless version of the T's, without a prim foot of any sort, Tya comes through with the update! Now you can decide which style you prefer, and in which of the multitude of colors available. Spring shoe shopping as easy as pie!

A Week of Top-Fives: Day Five, Flats

Flats are the perfect balance in dressing up that casual look, or dressing down an outfit that may be a bit too glam for what you need. It should be noted that I deliberately didn't choose plain flats: so Fri.day's Basic Flats, Armidi's Sasche flats and Shiny Things Saturday flats were all left off the list, but I do love them all and wear them a lot.

Cherry is a new-to-me store by Pink Outfitters, and I adore these little flats with the bow. Now, I have no idea who Alice Cullen is, but these flats were named after her. I googled and saw "Twilight" so I clicked off. Twilight makes my head hurt just to think about it.

ETD is basically dead, which makes me sadcakes. But these Buckle flats, which come in tons of colours, are perfect casual flats and I still wear them all the time.

Shiny Things, another store where the owner seems sadly MIA, made these awesome ballet flats a couple of years ago when sculpties first came out to replace a previous pre-sculpty pair. There's still not a pair of simple ballet flats anywhere else that I like better.

Pixel Mode's Freya flats are another pair of buckled flats, and they're really gorgeous. The textures are fantastic, and the buckle is so well done. I got these at the shoe fair, when I bought a pair of pumpkin-coloured flats. It turns out the brown was a freebie included with every colour you bought there!

My favourite pair of all time is these Periquita Funny Girl flats. The new and improved version is colour-changeble in way more colours than the original fatpack came in (yay!) and they're just perfect with jeans or even a nice business suit.

StyleCard: Pixel Mode

A Sunday full of events to attend and all of them back-to-back, this calls for a simple and elegant look that is prim friendly, stylish and has a bit of personality. I started with the great black dress from Cachet, you may not be a system skirt fan, but I totally am, all it takes is a skirt version of your shape and you get a sleek sexy look. I left off the oversized pockets and went with a great contrasting belt from M * A * ii * K * I , then added a matching necklace. Then it was about finding a shoe with a colourful punch to finish the look.

I have so many great shoes, but none of my fuchsia or pink shoes really did it, and then I found these, I did not even realize that Tya Fallingbridge of Pixel Mode had sent these over, but the colour and style matched so perfectly. The Kavika Sheen are a great satiny looking platform pump with an option of a tied strap or none at all. Beautifully shaped and well textured, the Kavika Sheen have nice height and an attractive retro feel.

Pixel Mode...at least for now

So Tya Fallingbridge of Pixel Mode had a big contest recently for a new sim name...she's keeping it to herself, but the winner was announced and that lucky duck received free shoes for life! So while we all wait, Tya has a temp spot for the store on her sim and I was late in arriving to grab her newest release. These boots have been out for a couple weeks and I've seen them here and there. I personally am a boot fanatic...so these are right up my alley, 100 degree weather and all. Here I've paired the boots with the Ilia Hooded Top, which is the newest from Saeya Nyanda of Kyoot Army. The guns came later :) Visit Pixel Mode Inworld and OnLine!
