Built to house sheep in 1870, the building now known as Tavern on the Green became a restaurant in 1934. Forty years later, Warner LeRoy, who had revolutionized the American dining scene with his legendary Maxwell's Plum, took over the restaurant’s lease and embarked upon a two-year, $10 million renovation.

Tavern on the Green reopened in 1976 as one of the world’s most spectacular restaurants, immediately embraced by New York’s glitterati. Now, under the direction of LeRoy’s daughter, Jennifer, who took over upon his death in 2001, it is the second highest-grossing independently owned restaurant in the United States with annual revenues in excess of $37 million; serving nearly 700,000 diners a year.

Screen Gem Groupies/Hippie Nouveaux

Sophia Casanova and Stella Jenna are two young beauties who could've been screen godesses like that of Sophia Loren. They've recently left the LES of NYC to drive cross country to pursue a California dream extraordinaire...So they've packed up their cats and fled west.They say New York is where you come to make dreams and LA is where dreams are broken. A few notes about the styles:

Farrah - Is a tousled, sexy mane, in honor of a woman known for her lovely locks... who is also a strong woman of untold courage, fighting her own fight with cancer. During HairFair, 100% of proceeds from this style will go to Locks of Love.

Many designers have designated styles which either the entirety or a portion of the purchase price benefits Locks of Love so don't forget to do some shopping. A few hair styles will be retired after this event. Remember this is a chariatble event - do us all a favor and ditch your huds & prims!

Like a Nomad

Oh yes, a Fashion Nomad - the colorful label created and sold by Aleida Rhode. Recently Aleida stepped into the world of crafting shoes, she designed these cooperatively and has textured them with extreme care. The results are a small line of shoes created in an effort to provide cheery color matches to her clothing line.

I looked at two of the newly released styles and am fully impressed with the shoes, my only minor critique is that they seem a slightly generous fit, but I also noted that the Busia do not cut the ankles like some strapped styles can, and that is a really wonderful thing.
