Howdy Boys and Girls,

While I was moseying about the grid I found a really spectacular offer from the designers at The Bobbysocks Shop (Demented Isle 186, 67, 25). Here you'll find 13 pairs of boots completely free nestled among some great cowboy, cowgirl, and Native American gear. You'll also have the opportunity to pick up a prairie style outfit for the girls or a cowboy outfit for the guys.

I used the L'Oreal free skins that can be found at Calla or Nuclear Boutique among other places. To find the L'Oreal skins open your search window and search for " L'oreal " via the places tab. Why am I not giving the slurl? Because search is your friend and this is a tool that everyone should learn to use. ($0) You can find the hair that I'm wearing at Sirena (Zoey style- West Sunset 160,50,22 - $1).

T-Strap Happy

Sandy Cleghorn of FUEL dropped her fresh new release on me last night, previously we have featured her Bella Pumps, Dolly Slippers, and Tainted Boots. The Bambee Wedges are a cute cork soled wedge with a buckled T-strap upper. The shoes have a neat organic feel to the sculpties and come in a variety of 9 neutrals and brights. I liked the look of the cork and the variety of textures that range from a linen look to suedes and reptile skin. My Favorite are the 'Milk', show below.

Also Available; Apple Fizz, Lemon, Fizzy Geko, Strawbs, Fizzy Sand, Milk (Dirty), BlueBerry and a Liquorice not shown here.

Just look at the gorgeous and unique silhouette. This is so rarely available to us ... Finland in the Spring

Storm Schmooz doesn't need my help when it comes to reputation, his shoes are wonderful - every pair carefully crafted to exacting specifications, the quality and workmanship speak for themselves. But being that I admire his creations so much I couldn't resist sharing with you the latest in his collection of great footwear, the Suomi Pumps. The Suomi are an attractive stacked wooden platform heel, and the name suits it well - the natural colors and texture of the wood reminds me of the vast forests of Finland.

The shades are muted, but the styling speaks volumes. The Suomi is available in 4 shades; the Pistache and Cognac shown above, and the dark Brown and attractive Naturel shown in the store posters below. Demos provided in store.

The Suomi is available in the flagship store, at Viva La Glam.

Long story short, I refused to remove an Autism Speaks kiosk from the shop Teagan Blackthorne and I share, an as a result the avatar I disagreed with has begun passing around my black Vanessa dress. As a result, I'm offering it for free at my main shop. Please blog it, so that people know i am NOT affiliated with the Autism Speaks protest.

Thanks,

Chrissie Miller on designing SOPHOMORE

Chrissie Miller's SOPHOMORE is taking off and expanding in her direction as a once strictly T-shirt company into a full blown line of clothing reminiscent of the old lower east side. This is not a line for hipster-ism. There is a very contemporary vibe to what she is doing. To think this all started as one big happy accident. Which is why I always try to push the idea out there to just do your art. Get it out there not 100% perfect. But expose yourself. And who knows what will happen next?!

-From what I understand you where a graphic artist who accidentally spawned a line of kitschy pop culture T shirts meant for friends only and voila it just blew up from there. Tell me a little bit about your beginning, and was it way overwhelming?
The beginning was the best part!

We made 72 t-shirts for Charlotte Ronson's store, then Daily Candy wrote about it and then we got orders from tons of stores including Bloomingdales! We didn't even have a company name yet! I thought I was going to be a graphic designer, but couldn't find a job. Then when our t-shirts starting doing well, it gave me a job! I love clothes and had so many ideas, it just felt right.

- For a few years now I've noticed you how you have a quirky sense of humor when it comes to the sayings that are printed on your T's ie ( The New York Crimes)... Currently Just Another Rich Kid is doing the same thing. Are you 2 friends that have happened to influence one another? If not what do you think of his work?

I've never heard of "just another rich kid"... We were inspired by the whole NY underground t-shirt culture. Brands like aNYthing, Danucht, Fuct, Ssur. None of those lines were really doing womens clothes so i wanted to put great graphics on good bodies.

- I love Cory Kennedy's style and would have loved to be in her shoes at that age (Hell this age too)... Lately she's been name dropping SOPHOMORE all over her high profile blog. How where you 2 introduced and has this really expanded your business, is the Sophomore fan base growing???

Ha!! I LOVE Cory, she is the most photogenic person I know! We met because she was dating my friend Wade (from the Virgins). She's a Pisces, I'm Pisces... She likes fashion, I like fashion it just works! I do get a lot of emails from her fans and now that I'm on her top friends on myspace my friend requests have tripled!

- When you are designing at your showroom what are you listening to these days musically? And what is the Showrooms atmosphere like?

Good question! I ALWAYS listen to music when I work. Right now I listen to The Virgins, Radiohead's In Rainbows and Amy Winehouse!

- Is your company involved in any charities, if so please tell us a little bit about which ones?

There are a few I am interested in getting involved with but nothing officially.

-You know there is kind of a soft spot I have for your line, it really reminds me of X-GIRL in the late 90's when Kim Gordon started this little brand of clothing, and had Chloe Sevigny sporting it around town as well as Kathaleen Hannah from Bikini Kill flaunting it in her video's. Not sure if you grew up around that era while "KID'S" the movie came about. But were you associated at all or into X-GIRL, and have you ever thought for a second "I take after that a bit coincidentally?"

WOW! That is a huge complement!!! Thank you so much! I think the 90's are in the air right now so I think for sure that came out in the clothes. I love the idea of being nostalgic with without looking vintage. Staying contemporary is key.

7 I get the feeling you and Charlotte Ronson are friends with Similar career paths. Did you always know each other, and do you ever plan to collaborate with one another?

Charlotte is one if my best friends! We have known each other since high school. We collaborate all the time, we did that Vote Ronson t-shirt together. (I think it was on your blog right?)

It was I thought is was way clever!Well thank you for your time, and I look forward for years to come with SOPHOMORE, what can we expect in the future from you?

Thank you! I'm a big fan of denim and I have yet to find a great line (even though there are tons) So maybe we will do a denim line some day..

Funky Fresh

DeLa creator Kuranosuke Kamachi dropped these great new opened toed clogs on me the other day and at the time I was in a high fashion stiletto mood so they sat unattended in my inventory until this morning. Today I wanted to wear something comfy and casual, and with some well worn color - so out they came, and they feel just great.

I really like the funky 70's appeal of the Polina Sandal, they have the look of worked in suede with stitching and a neat buckle on a shapely platform base... platform everything is popping up all over second life, looks like they are the hot trend for spring shoes at the moment. There are 2 variations of the shoes, with contrasting red flowers on the sole or with flowers that match the upper part - a nice option, in 6 colors. I paired them with the ever fabulous Toeless Slouch Socks from Maitreya, both the toeless and the closed toed versions of these are on my list of great socks and hosiery!

Get the Polina Sandal at DeLa.

There are also several hairstyles and a hud included with the horse avatar that may help newer players who are unfamiliar with editing linked prims customize the avatar. If you've wanted to try out a furry or anthropomorph and haven't yet, this is your perfect opportunity.

Having fun

Todays whole outfit started with these sort of funky, kind of cute unisex steam powered skates I found on a Japanese sim. The shirt I bought ($1) from a store Cheri Pye recommended named Frozen Turquoise Valentine which had a number of dresses, but I really like this shirt which I modeled sans boa. The shirt seemed to match the pants perfectly to, which I picked up at one of my favorite stores Kurotsubaki. And the hair from Adimu just seemed to pull everything together.

Primalot -Steals and Deals

I vaguely remember seeing something written about Primalot (Blackmount 7, 121, 706) around the ever hectic Halloween season, but sadly to say I quickly forgot about it. Yesterday after a friend checked out a Freestyle notice about a witch outfit (which I unfortunately clicked through) she tped me to the store saying that there were a couple other things to checkout. Although the store does offer male clothing all the free outfits are for females. But, there are a couple unisex items in the free section: neko ears & tail ($0) and I think the caged heart chocker may also work for a male ($1). I also think the Halloween Witch outfit would make an excellent Halloween Warlock.

What I can show you from the store are four looks. The last is a complete avatar priced at $10, which I thought was pretty reasonable especially when you'd likely pay more for just the hat that is part of the avatar. So here are the looks:

The Halloween Witch included a scripted crow with pose and sound:

Primalot_Halloween Witch

The little snowflake outfit included a wand that emitted particles while playing an animation along with 3 skirt options:

Primalot_Little Snowflake

The Valentina Red was priced for $0, but the other colors in the room were priced at regular price:

Primalot_Valentina Red

All the above outfits were photographed with various skins from previously blogged Coquette (
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Puea/56/16/0) * C ASM Series II Skins $1. The next picture is of a $10 starter avatar set that includes a freebie skin along with outfit made by Primalot.

Primalot_Silvestra Sparkle_10

The Silvestra Sparkle outfit also included a wand with sparkles and the skirt and shawl parts were scripted to bling, but the hat is bling free.

Overall I think the store is worth the time to look around. It's small and it won't take a lot of time and there are a number of cute items there. Also many of the dresses included shoes, hair, and jewelry.

Shoes For My Sweet Tooth

Some days you just need a little 'pick me up'. Things get you down, and you need that afternoon sugar rush to give you a little lift. Today was a day like that for me, and thankfully Tesla Miles of TESLA had just the treat I needed... shoes! Not just any shoes either, the Estella Platform Pumps are an ingenious combo of retro funky styling, scrumptious bright colour and sweet details. As soon as she dropped them on me I had to get them on my feet, and I couldn't be happier about them.

The sweet Mary Jane buckles, the darling black ribbon on the back... and the super chunky platforms make these a really satisfying snack. Grab them in the following flavors; Black, Brown, Blue, Green, Honey, Pink, Red, White and Yellow. Personally I would grab the 9 pack... you never know when you might be in the mood for some serious snacking!

Get the Estella Platforms at Tesla World.

Spring Wishes

It's that weird sort of year when it's still a bit cold, but everyone is thinking ahead to spring. I put together an outfit that gives just a hint of spring thanks to the strawberry skirt from Feather:

Strawberry Skirt
Hair: Mod's Hair (http://slurl.com/secondlife/NTT%20DoCoMo/194/120/131) $0
Eyes: Shop BF part of free avatar (http://slurl.com/secondlife/New%20Tokyo/133/91/27) $0
Skin:*CASM - ModLips - Silver/Pink from * C ASM Series II Skins found at Coquette/Go Dutch (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Puea/56/16/0) $1
Skirt: Berry Mini Skirt from Feather (http://slurl.com/secondlife/ToshimaKu/110/228/22) $0
Shirt: Free Topps Kurotsubaki (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Koenji/196/225/33) $0
Shoes: Free Red Loli Mary Janes from She's So Unusual (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Redux%20NW/172/205/23) $1
Necklace & Earrings: (Shiny Things) Enamel Flower Jewelry available at the Gnubie Store (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Indigo/236/44/31) $0

While you're at She's so Unusual picking up the shoes you may want to look around. There are 10 pairs of shoes hidden around the store priced at $10 until February 25th at which time the store will close for remodel.

Simply Put

I just had to share with you some shoes that I think are truly an example of the kind of future sculpted shoes can have in SL. The Simply Me shoes by Ella Ireton are anything but simple, they are a pumped up pump… complete with rivets, tassels and buckles. Available at COPYKAT (DONT GET IT TWISTED) and hidden amongst some super creative boots that are really worth a look on their own, these shoes are a funky addition to your footwear inventory.

The Simply Me comes in 6 great shades; Red, Purple, Blue, Pink, a basic Tan-like shade & a Light Purple. I like the rounded toe and the darker contrasting accents, such as the heel and small metal details. My favorite shade was the Light Purple which I paired with the great ‘Toronto’ jacket by Valenttina Carfagno of Frozen Turquoise Valentine.

These shoes are worth a look, you can get them at COPYKAT.

Also wearing; Minnu Skin, RaC Hair, LAST CALL Blouse, Shai Pants, Acessories by /artilleri/, Second Mirage & hand tinted bangles from [Amaretto]. (review copies reqested)
