Couture Gems

One of my favorite blogs I check regularly is Trendelacreme. I find all sorts of stuff on my blogger explorations. I stumble upon links I'd never get to through other stylistas online. Which is how I found the following.

Check out Lydia Courteille Collection...and other decadent delights that you can buy on www.CoutureLab.com

Keeping the Designer Alive and not Corporate Yet....

As you all may know by now my pretty little neighbor Liz helped me out this past month. We collaborated in a project where she took my logo and carved it into some copper, then proceeded to dip them in white gold. They are a limited edition so if you want a pair you can buy them on her Etsy account currently.

Go visit the dreamy wonderland of 24Karas on her blogspot account!!!

I also want to take this chance to showcase some of her own work that is of her unique nature 100% 24Karas!!! Lizzy loves the sea,all things natural and of organic nature. I want to try and help Liz and all my friends like her. Meaning I want all my friends to be able to make a living out of what they love to do most.

Backstage and name dropping at THE BLONDS

New York fashion week tends to be a bit seemingly boring at times. All shows thrown by MAO never seem to fail me. Last night if you missed Phillipe and David Blond's runway costume design extravaganza, then you missed out big. and I'm not just talking about the actual show. The crowd was equally important, the front row was filled with every hot fashionista brat in the business. Pat Field sat front row with shades on, yielding the flashing cameras. World famous Amanda Lepore was up front in her frilly pink frock, when the spotlight wasn't on here then it was on Andre J. No true MAO fashion show is absolutely complete without the legendary Warhol superstar Sylvia Miles with the Baroness Sherry von Korber-Bernstein and her feathered hats!!!

But enough party talk. I want to praise the Blond's for spicing up fashion week with their blingged out corsets, jeweled flesh toned bathing suits and feathered goods.

Thank you Coutorture for supplying pictures from the show.

This glammed up show was heavily accented with the finest jewels designed by Ramona Boucher, her couture jewelry line is called BASTION. I stumbled upon the table and chatted up with Ramona herself. To my surprise she told me that she designed that famous to die for rose diamond ring that Samantha owned on "Sex in the City" the movie!!! I told her a little bit about my baby headband company Angel Lust, and she said "Well maybe you and I should get together and design some head pieces together",My jaw dropped as she slipped me her business card. All I could think was "PROMISE???"...

She handed me one of her gorgeous rocks on a ring and said try it on,OMG was it hard to take off. Her good friend Chad helped me out in that area. Take a closer look at the beautiful rocks in his hands.

All the models where clad in blond wigs naturally, and their nails where even decked out like a disco ball with the help of Creative Nail Designs.

The crow clapped ridiculously hard as super model Alek walk out but it was nothing compared to the applause Phillipe Blond got himself as he strutted the runway at the end.

This was a true fashion moment that hasn't happened since Teri Toye hit the scene in the 80's.

Here is one of the little models backstage getting her hair undone.

Here's me with my crazy Japanese vixen hair dresser Ayumie. She's been working at the Patricia Field hair Salon for like 13 years now and anyone I send to her they leave happy and go back for more. Mention my name "KRISTEN" and you just might get the girlfriend discount...But no promises!!!

Last night's Gossip Girl nights at POP LOUNGE...

POP LOUNGE is a swanky gourmet lounge with 6 wide screen projectors that show GOSSIP GIRL every Monday at 8. A new designer will show their line every week in a trunk show manner or display. It is hosted by Fashion Indie. Right next to Bergdorff Goodman's I recommend this place to chow down at after a long day's worth of shopping. Its a great date space as well,or to just simply sit and look fabulouse....Be sure to try their lobster rolls and a side cocktail called "Flirtinie"!!!

Check out my viewing from last night's soiree gathering of creative women,Caycee Black voted in Lucky mag's top 7 designers to watch, Liz a dainty girl who is a metal smith jewelry designer, and perfumer Celle Adore.

Here is the beautiful Lisa Golightly alongside trend forecaster Glendy.

Stylehive's Lisanne made an appearance coming all the way from California for Fashion Week!!!

Part of my display...

If you're strapped for $$$ and aren't we all these days??? Grab a bite at POP BURGER located downstairs. Reasonably affordable priced hamburgers served in this hot spot you see below!!!

Angel Lust earrings by 24 Karas

Hey all you can now buy the Angel Lust Logo earrings on etsy. They were created in a collaborative effort with my beautiful jewelry designing neighbor Liz Karas. She is the designer behind her line named 24Karas.Liz handcrafts the better bulk of her sea inspired jewels in the comfort of her own little cozy romantic apartment. Sometimes I go up there while she is sawing away at silver plates. Our pets Jezabelle my pooch and Cocopuff her cat both look alike and surprisingly love each other. You can expect more from us together in the future. I love it now that I am surrounded by such lovely unselfish talented young woman. We are all nurturing each other in an effort to move forward so we can quit our day jobs or freelance work and just pursue designing.

24 Karas Jewelry for Angel Lust

My lovely neighbor Liz is a jewelry designer and she is making some gems with my logo on it. I got to watch the entire process and I'm going to share part of it with you. Its really intriguing to watch another form of design happen. Watching her saw through metal like its ballet or something.

Here is what the final product is going to look like eventually on rings/necklaces/earrings,we will probably collaborate after fashion week on a project.

I'm so excited and so fascinated with watching every little detail Liz is able to do. Sawing an intricate shape like this is such a skill, and watching her do it as if it where like spreading butter.

Macy's Window Display for Earth Week in NYC

The fashion Industry really knows how to put the message out there with all the designers/window dressers/makeup artistry and hair stylist...I love these MACY'S window's with soda cans cut into sculpted flower head pieces. Trash bag plastic wigs, and yarn hair. It really has got me excited about going green or at least trying a bit harder.

The SUGAR MAFIA collection by Angelique Boutique reminds me of a spin off of Tarina Tarantino jewelry made with some vintage findings here and there. Her stuff is both dangerous and beautiful, kind of like Too Faced icon "ENVY" which is why I chose to show this cameo necklace. Shop for these pieces directly at www.AngelLovePink.com!!! If you want to continue the crazed pink love Too Faced soon to be discontinued fat kiss is an excellent choice at $18.50!!! Remember 3 free samples with each purchase here!!!
