A Closer Look at Giusia

Like pretty much every other blogger and fashionista on the grid, I made my way over to Giusia, the hot new store that opened on Friday. It has some stylish Men's and Women's clothing, accessories, skins and yes... shoes. I was truly excited about the store and it's contents, and eager to present more than just the shoes today, thanks for humoring me... but just look at these yummy skins and outfits... so impressed.

There are currently 2 styles of shoe available; the Ginevra and the Sculpted Stiletto. The Ginevra is a sexy little slingback with a lovely shape and some great texturing work. I was pleased with the overall look of the shoe and the dozens of colour options, some minor sculpted glitches in my viewer, but i would more than likely attribute that to rezzing issues as the shoes look great in the photos. The Sculpted Stiletto is a great basic pump, high shine and contrast heel, or monochromatic in some shades. Nicely done for first releases from Giusia. See below photos for shopping details. Keeping busy ...

I've been wandering around and found a couple of places to check out. M'S FACTORY (Nipponbashi (85, 13, 27) is a cute spot to pick up tons of outfits for girls. *All* the outfits in this area are completely free. You'll find over 30 outfits here. I've shown it with the new free hair from +YUZUKAMIYA+ ( Tohl777E 197/33/22 - wander around this area to find more free items).



While near M'S Factory you'll want to walk, fly, or tp over to the Love Soul Mall area. In the Honey Soul ( Nipponbashi 23/15/25) are you'll find the following dress for free , but there is an additional dress not pictured available for $1 (glitter dress). Also while here pick up the Love Soul Catalog. Contained in the catalog are instructions on how to redeem a coupon included with the boxed catalog. When you go to the store, wear the coupon, and touch the box in the Love Soul store you'll receive a box containing 6 items (pose, dresses, swim wear, pants, and shirts)!

Have you heard? Bijoux (Takaraduka/219/140/39) has released some killer hair (one of which is free - Takaraduka (217, 171, 33). You'll also find a slew of dresses here.



Someone told me that <3> ( PopFuzz 108/209/34) had a ton of free dresses out while I was away. I decided to check it out and there are still a couple of dresses hidden in with the rest for free $0. The stores pretty empty so I'm assuming fans will be in for a slew of cuteness soon.



I thought the free hair from Junewave(Nanba (194, 64, 27 ) would compliment these dresses nicely. I also decided to check out the discount basement while on the Popfuzz sim (PopFuzz 116/174/21) and found a number of older <3 size="3">Angel Sienkiewicz also for free. Unfortunately the dress by Angel Sienkiewicz is for free because someone is selling it. If anyone knows where Angel's store is please post the slurl. She had the best messenger bags and I don't see them anywhere. Thanks.



If you have time you should swing by *Miroku* (waseda (132, 218, 27) and drag your guy friends along, because there are a couple of outfits here for him! You'll find 3 camping spots here for group members, don't fret there's an invite box near the camping chairs. So if you like the outfits (2 dresses 1- 10 min & 1- 60 min, 1 male outfit 30 min) join and then camp. If you're pressed for time you'll find two free outfits next to the camp chairs (1-m, 1-f) for free. In the south east corner of the store you can find 3 dresses ($1 ea), Tux (m - $1), baseball jacket (unisex $1), free retro bathing suit ($0 - f) and also two outfits for those avatars 30 days or younger (1-m,1-f). You may also spy a free bangle and choker. (Shown are a mixture of camping, free, and $1 items from Miroku).



Lastly, if you haven't checked out the new Japanese magazine S-LOVE vol,002 you'll defiantly want to head to LOVE LIFE AGANCY (ALC 150/47/29) and pick it up. Wear the magazine, thumb through it, and press the "present" button whenever it appears (this is a new feature not present in vol,001). Sometimes you'll receive a landmark to the store, but other times you'll receive a gift (including free male skin from NexR & undies for the guys & the cute shoes from La Petite Fleur that I wore in all the photos.) While I'm mentioning NexR I'm wearing one of their $7 skins in all the pictures and NexR is adjoining the Love Life Agancy so if you like the skin pick it up.



And all the poses (with the exception of the pose included in the Tuli outfit) used came from Imperial Elegance (Glenn 159/219/28) which is having a sale - $15 per pose that will be retired. Sale is until June 19th and then those poses will no longer be available in world ...

Last one ... promisez

The board shorts will be offered from Surfline (Surfline Aloha Rezzable 70/68/24) from May 17th to May 23rd; currently the gift is a cute dress. So this week something for the girls and in a couple of days you'll find board shorts for the guys.



The skin is from Simone Starlet Skin (Simone Starlet Skin (102, 132, 39) you'll receive an offer upon landing that contains the skin. Not sure how long the offer is so you may want to rush over and check it out.

New store - OPENING SALE EVENT

-dD- announces a new satellite store in Wild Vertigo - offering our 12 most popular styles, each in their seven most popular doubles. As an opener, ALL usually full-price hair in the Vild Vertigo store is just 20L a double - a massive saving of 83% per box. This is a limited offer and will end around 2am SLT tomorrow.

Before I go.....

I received a couple of request to feature a couple of items and wanted to share a couple of things before I leave for vacation. First up I want to say this look is totally for the guys (Yay!).



I found this store by spotting someone in an outfit I had to have. No longer do I ask where did you get *that* when I see someone in a prim outfit! I just right click > more > more > inspect >then press the "see creator's profile" to find out where an item is from. Usually the owner will either have a slurl to their store in their profile, a dedicated pick under the picks tab, a classified under the classified tab or you can im or notecard a request for the slurl to the creators store. This works 90% of the time without bothering the person who is wearing 'x' that is a *must* have. The sad news was everything in the store was no transfer so I didn't get the dress, but hey I found 3 outfits for free including the suit above at YumeRing (Akiba (149, 181, 21). The suit is upstairs so you'll have to do a bit of floating or camera view in the 2nd story of the store to pick up the suit. You'll also find a feather boa or 'wing muffler' that is unisex if you like a bit of glam! The hair is a unisex style from Curl up and Dye Salon (Inari (32, 191, 400) which I bought for $1 on the round table in the middle of the store where you'll also find two camp for hair chairs. The shoes are from the Token sim's black suit. The Japanese posh apartment business must be doing well because their are several outfits that have been added to this sim since I originally blogged about it. ($0 suit, $1 hair, m&f&mascots available on the Token sim all $0)





Downstairs at YumeRing (Akiba (149, 181, 21) I found a couple of dresses in a box(----Smart Diff). The red one above is modeled with skin I won camping at a store I was contacted about and decided to check out: +++BLUE BLOOD+++ [(North Star (165, 33, 23) 20 minute camp/random prize]. The black dress below was also in the box (----Smart Diff) which I am modeling with skin in the Japanese Ganguro makeup style from NexR (Tokyo Pig Sight (157, 124, 23).



The boots are part of hunt put on by Crimson Shadow that Tox1c Chemistry was kind enough to let me know about and also provided me with the sculpty pink boots I'm modeling above. Here is the info on how you can get the pair I'm wearing above along with a red & blue pair all are Unisex:

Let's start off with a TODAY ONLY offer from MIA (MIA 2 (164, 35, 33). That's right guys and GALS MIA is back to giving away a free outfit on Monday. I picked up both pairs of shoes that I'm wearing from the Free Dove (Gallii 113/53/33) which is one of those must visit freebie haunts. The white pair of shoes is courtesy of Insolence; black pair from *SM Vendor*. ($0 / m & f/clothes, shoes, hair, skin, animation overrides, jewelry)



At AQUA (Glinda 227, 29, 89) I picked up two cute dresses for free and the hotpants & bikini top set is $5 for a limited time. I hadn't heard of this place before and it has tons of sexy outfits. ( $0 - dresses, $5 -hotpants/ F)



While at a hunt I spotted Trinity Outlander who had on a smexy, smexy lace outfit. She directed me to Kunglers (Agapema 241/137/48) where I found two lace outfits. You'll find both dresses upstairs. ($0 - 2 dresses, F)



Last, but certainly not least I hit A Piece of Candy (Immintel (160, 180, 100) for the Little Italy blue diamond hunt. I spotted all the diamonds easily and I'm sure you can too. They're sculpty so just make sure to walk around and give them time to rez. There were 4 outfits included in the hunt and one skin. I also picked up one of the $1 tops (not pictured) from the dollarbie post, where you'll find additional Another Shop skin mods. Candy is really good to her patrons and usually offers (as she has this week) a new release at a special introductory price. This week she has a couple of outfits for $10 each. ($1 - 5 diamonds, $1- skins & shirts, $10 new releases / F)

I almost forgot. =X All the jewelry shown is from yoona Mayo's shop in uemachi (uemachi (25, 136, 29). You'll find a nice selection of free jewelry & a hair for the girls. Also the prices are really inexpensive. $30 for earrings & $50 for necklaces & some sets.

While you were sleeping....

I'm slowly working through some of my notes on places to check out. One place(s) is the MILK USAGI MALL in Samoa *Japane (Samoa (225, 136, 57). In each mall there is a freebie section. You'll find the freebie section in this mall along the back wall of the first floor and another upstairs along the front wall of the store. There are also a couple of freebies within vendor booths. Just take a look around. You'll also find camping chairs at this location; at other locations you'll find lucky chairs. The malls are small and if you decide to check them all out (the black spinning box near the entry will dispense a note card with landmarks to other locations) take a look in the areas surrounding each small mall. Japanese vendors often offer freebies. (Dress, boots/ $0 / f)



I'm wearing a new skin from Frick ( Blackmount 98/138/64) who makes Another Skin modifications that are fantasy inspired. All the skins here are reasonably priced at $30 and under. (IZ skin/ $1/2 pack / f)

I'm wearing one of the hairs that you too can find on the Earth Day hunt that ends Sunday on Lemon Island home of Bewitched Hair. ($0/12 hairs bought from trees / m&f)

101: Random Hopping

Woot, post #101 that's a lot of darn blogging! So tonight I was pretty bored after finishing my shift up at the Velvet (My friend Zac (the dj) asked me to come and hang for a while. So if you get a chance stop by and say hi after 8 pm. This would be an ideal time to meet me rather than call/instant message me a hi. =). Cristinia let me tag around behind her to document her freebie frenzy and this is the restults:

The first stop was at a little market set up until 14 April. There's a little over 20 booths at Waseda (waseda 125/121/26) market. Most things were fairly inexpensive so we really took our time looking around. There were lots of freebies ($0) and a couple dollarbie items. Some items aren't marked as being free so it really pays to scroll over everything. There's also a booth that is filled with completely free items- these items can be found at almost any freebie place, but would be helpful for either a male or female human avatar just starting.



For the pants outfit I used a pair of boots I found on the docks at the Hobo Info Hub (Calleta 78,163,25 -follow the railroad tracks to the docks.). I'm also wearing a pair of glass shoes from Ada Store ($0- Fontaine (39, 104, 50). The skin is an oldie, but goodie from Rabbit Skin ($0 - NEOJAPAN TOKYO 147,60,22).


Next we hopped over to Japon's Seaside Mall (Japon 81, 7,22). Although this appears to be a newer place with lots of open vendor slots the freebie section is nice. There is a lot of variety in the freebies: a couple of dresses, guitars, tree, hair accessories, pets, shirts to name a few. There's also a $10 and $15 dollar photo studio with several $10 packs of textures that may be of some interest. Here's a pic of a nifty little maids outfit I picked up at the Japon's Seaside Mall:



The tights are from the Waseda market, hair from +LALA Moon+ Prim Hair Shop (LALA Moon (126, 210, 28) - which has also added a number of camping chairs for hair, skin from Rabbit Skin, & shoes from Ada Store.

Access (Access 158, 108,22) sim also has a small market set up, but there were no signs so I'm not sure how long this one is set up. You'll find a fair number of stalls set up at this area also. I only saw two vendors that were also at the Waseda market area. So it would be a good idea to hit both the goods ranged from clothing, to avatars, to furniture. You'll find dollarbie skin for the girls & freebies including clothing, avatars, hairs, & furniture for both males and females. Couple of the looks, but believe me there are more from the market area:

Lastly, I checked out the bottle hunt & art show - read more on Candy's blog here. I picked up a couple (well, 3) bottles ($1/) at Candy's store Apiece of candy (Immintel (160, 180, 100). Skin & dresses from the hunt. I also saw that the eggs from the sim to sim easter hunt were still out, so if you didn't get those you may want to rush over and pick those eggies up before they are gone.

Frick and loving it!

I got a notecard (thanks for the notecard!) from Trinity Outlander and decided to check out her suggestion - Frick. It just so happens that {Frick} (Blackmount (98, 137, 64) is having a skin hunt, but it ends today so run there NOW! 5 eggs are hidden around filled with female skins in addition to a couple free on the wall to the right when entering the store. The hunt ends today (25 March). Finally reasonably priced Another Shop mods starting at $10 - $99/four pack. I'd love to see some darker shades in these!!! ($0)

Let Me Throw a Cabbage At Your Head

Ah, yes the impending holiday where drunk people throw cabbages at other drunk people is fast approaching. Somehow I've never quite gotten into this holiday. Maybe it was all those bruises from being pinched for going sans green or the freaking hurling of vegetables that made it not appealing or maybe it's the green beer. Anywho despite all my reservations I did dapper myself up in a green gown just for you guys. =-)~

At Kiss- Hair for Men and Women (Jeolla 214,69,68) you will find 4 $5 newbie packs of hair for Men and 4 for Women. Each pack comes with a mix of 5 hair colors. Hair at Kiss is $200/6 color pack, $1900/fat pack, and demos are $1. There is also a small selection of hair for female child avatars. I'm wearing the Coined style in most of the photos (the exception is the insert where I'm trying to show the jewelry) and when I picked it out I was thinking big 80's hair, but I have to say that the style is exceptionally more Angie Dickinson sex kitten.

The offer of the week at SKGShoes is a $5 pair of sculptie heels in jade. In addition there are 6 $1 shoes here: 3-white & 3-blue. (Aloha Business Park 167,203,22)

The skin is available at Char's SHOP (uemachi 37,110,29). You'll find not only the skin I'm wearing but a toal of 5 skins, 3 shapes, and a mani/pedi set ($0) among a number of well priced animated objects. You might want to explore this sim because there are tons of goodies on this sim not only for female avs, but also male avs.

When I took a look around Uemachi and happened into Yoona Mayo's Jewelry shop (Uemachi 14, 136, 29) I couldn't leave it out of this post. Yoona offered four $0 pieces - 2 earrings, 1-necklace, & 1- female hair. All of her jewerly is really reasonably priced with sets at $50 and earrings as low as $15. She also has hair for $40, but in a very limited color selection.

Body Basics & Free 4 U (now 2 locations) MIA & MIA 2

A great place to get everything you need to start your avatar is Body Basics (http://slurl.com/secondlife/MIA/206/67/25). There you can pick up a male or female avatar (shape, skin, eyes, & hair) all totally free. This is an unbelievably generous offer and it is NOT just reserved to new players. It's free to anyone and I have to say a couple of the skins are especially excellent for the anyone who wants to play a female fairy or elf. The Body Basics store is loaded with hairs, skins, and avatars and definitely worth a browse for any citizen. But, the generosity of Ayla Holt and her group down at the MIA (http://slurl.com/secondlife/MIA/152/52/10) sim does not stop there. The group has totally redesigned and expanded the Free 4 U store (http://slurl.com/secondlife/MIA/148/24/25) to include a plethora of items that is truly astonishing ... clothes (m/f), jewelry, houses, landscaping, and animation overrides. Most items in both stores are original content, but there is also other items available here. It appears that the gang wanted to make sure that if you were lucky enough to happen upon this island that you'd feel completely welcome in SL and be able to complete acclimate yourself into the game. San Leandros Sim

I have to divulge the first time I happened upon this sim was through a freebie notice. Which I never did get, because I got to entranced by the lovely setting off to the left from the central teleportation point. So, while chatting with some new fellow I morphed into a mermaid and planted myself in the lovely little pond and took a couple of pictures until that devilishly beautiful Ofelia distraceted me with stories of her shopping withdrawl blues and we attacked the Prim & Proper sale and spent the day goofing off.

But, today I loged in to the reception of a little note from Helena Compton about her store on the San Leandros sim and a dollarbie bag available there. She sent me a sample and I have to say, thanks! I love that it has a pose and it is a good one. The texture is chic and the product appears well made. So here I find myself hooked like a fish wandering around San Leandros all thanks to the bella Helena grazie. =)

All the skins worn are from the Stellar Designs Valentine Day Heart Hunt $1 each- there are male skins in this hunt to - go here to take a look at all the skins. Stellar Designs (3 stores - female, costumes, & male) has a lot of items from my brief scroll over I saw fat packs from $2000 to socks $45/pair all items were no transfer and there's a lot to look at here.

All hairs worn are from Bewitched Hair. Bewitched Hair offers several styles for $1/5 color pack- in it's clearance section for both male and female avatars. Clearance prices are $99/color pack. Regular Hair prices are $195/color pack; $750/everything pack. Bewitched also has frequent secret sales when hair packs are marked down from the regular price of $195 to either $100 or $50 and also 10 packs which are $1. All hair is no transfer.

All shoes worn are from previously blogged ADA Store. Everything here sculpty shoes, skins, eyes, & accessories are all free ($0) and no transfer.

If you missed it....

If you happened to miss Spirit's grand opening you might want to go by the store and check out the awesome new build and grab the $1 boxes from the hunt that went on during their opening. There's a really nice tux for the guys to- a gray one with excellent textures! There's also a dress/tutu set named "SPIRIT Nutcracker Ballet, Clara's Party Dress Set" for $1. I'm not sure if this was out at the opening, because boy did I miss it. And look how super cute it is:

The above tutu was scripted with the super cute pose. The set also contains a non-scripted tutu. ;) As you can see in the above picture the skirt and prim sleeve pieces are a little bright. For the following picture I show the pieces tinted with the default lightest shade of gray to match the top. This is purely preference and since I prefer for the prim pieces to more closely match the top I chose to tint my prim pieces when I can. -But of course this is my preference and you do not have to tint, contrasting pieces are nice to. I've been asked several times how I get my skirts & prim pieces to match and this is why I try to include this tip when applicable.-
