Shoe Fair 2010: Kookie

More creative Shoe Fair finds from Kookie, whose shoes are unique and offer a wide variety of styles and shapes. I love the details on the Enya Power Boots, with their futuristic shape and buckle closures.

The Armarda Boots from Kookie have an earthy rustic thing going on, with or without the wool topper option the delicate laces and eyelets are a great touch. I loved the rich chocolate shade, if you can't eat it might as well wear it. Kookie Lemon makes some yummy stuff!

The Bonnie lace-up ankle boots have a surprising open toe design, and a lot of personality. The shape is easy to love, and the funky updated style is easy to wear with casual pants or dresses. Be sure and visit Kookie at the Shoe Fair 2010 to see some great styles.

Redgrave, Reloaded.

I have been noticeably absent from 'On Your Toes' the past week or so, and that is because I have been madly working away at one of my other projects, TOO SEXY Magazine. The magazine has now launched and one of my favorite features was an exclusive from Redgrave, where Viola Leigh and sister Emilia Redgrave gave me the opportunity to show off their latest work. For Emilia it is a sneak peek at her new line of TO DIE FOR Skins, a collection of dramatic looking goth and vampire skins, that will soon be released in their very own store location, and for Viola it was an update on the hugely successful Biker Boots.

The Biker Boots 'Reloaded' are one of my favorite grunged up sexy boots to date, one of the most notable features are the unique left and right boots, meaning, they aren't just a mirrored copy of the other foot, each boot has its own special characteristics. The details are great, metal studs and spikes, chains, and scuffs. These will be available in a few different colors, and 2 metal options. The boots should be on the shelves in the next week or so, to get the official release information about the boots and the new line of skins, your best bet is joining the Redgrave Fashion group in-world.

Too see all the photos from this feature you can also visit my flickr stream.

The stuff;
Boots - Redgrave - Biker Boots RELOADED - Black w/ Silver. (soon to be released)
Skin - Redgrave 'TO DIE FOR' - Zafira Skin, Marble, Nude. (soon to be released)
Hair - sWEET HAIRs - Selene V1 - D02.
Outfit - RFyre, Chained, Black.
Collar - The Abyss, Choker, Unleashed.

Who Needs A Vacation?

I do! I do! But if I start with my feet I might just get there, maybe. The new St. Tropez Heels from Redgrave are reminiscent of the slice of warm weather that I am craving at the moment, a beautiful striped leather sandal with playful lace-up details would definitely make the trip. Viola Leigh delivered the goods with some great color combinations of these nicely textured babies.

Good On Paper

Oh yes, Spring 2009 is here! With today's release of the hefty bouquet full of detailed gowns, pouf adorned dresses, and perfectly layered outfits, Paper Couture made sure to do it's usual magic. It is a Spring Collection complete with accessories, and oh hey, delicious shoes. I did my part for the SL 'Couture' industry and spent a nice chunk of linden loonies on these beautiful items.

The Pastel Blue Butterfly Pumps are decorated with, you guessed it, Butterflies that seem to be made of delicate enamel. A pretty soft blue that fades to white on a peachy tinted sole, the shoe features the Paper Couture signature on the insole and embroidered on a small label on the back of the left heel. Worn with these shoes is the Braided Rosette Tunic, Diamond & Rose Bouquet Ring, Deer Flower earrings and Climbing Ilkar Long Hair.

Red is irresistible in most cases, and the beautiful combination of quited leather and floral print would be more than enough to sell me on these Red Pattented & Floral Pumps, but the added touched of ornate beaded flowers and buttons make these unforgettable. The casual and classic Jasmine Vest Outfit is the perfect soft palate to make these shoes stand out, and the fantastic Glass Flower Necklace and Pearled Simplicity Earrings, and Forget Me Not Bun Hair add even more interest to this sweet look.

A must have pair of pumps for me are the Copper & Wood Flower lovelies, the generous wood heel give these such a warm feeling. I paired these antique rose and satin printed pretties with the Belladonna Mini Dress, exquisite Carnelian Set jewelry and Spring Multi-Stone Ring, which gave me my biggest smile of the shopping trip.

You will not want to miss a chance to take a closer look at these and many other beautiful new releases at Paper Couture, your Limo is Here.

Beautiful Baiastice!

Is it any wonder that I have fallen in love with the latest collection from Baiastice? I appears to have seamlessly and spectacularly combined the best of Black and White with hip punches of delicious bright color. And did I mention the shoes? Sissy Pesoa's latest collection demonstrates the skill of this talented designer, the collection takes us on a trip through a variety of styles all complemented with accessories such as handbags, sunglasses and footwear. The detail and unique styling of Sissy's footwear takes them far beyond the basic pump sculpts she begins with. Oversized Crystals, Leather Straps, Grommets and Satin, paired with the collection's sculpted corset pieces and giant bows, combine to present a complete fashionista wardrobe to the many fans of Baiastice, of which I am definitely one!

In London Town

Redgrave's latest footwear release for the ladies did not dissapoint, another inovative and well textured leather heel in a variety of great colours at the irresistable prices and fatpack options that Viola Leigh's sexy line of shoes has become known for. The London Heels are more sandal than pump, with the open toes and pieces that wrap the leg. Included with these comes a notecard with specific shape recommendations to get that perfect fit, but the now familiar resize script makes it easy to adjust for an attractive fit for you own shape too.

I had fun playing with these, and managed to come up with 3 style cards for this release. The first look features the London shoes in Silver White, a fresh cocktail party look complete with the new handkerchief skirted dress from Bijou, accessories from Uzuri, and Hair from Armidi. I was then inspired to try them with a formal look, and chose this sexy Maggie Gown from Azul, the movement is exquisite and revealed glimpses of the London Heels in Black. Hair is Breeze from Lamb, amazing accessories are from Aluinn.

The final look for the London Heels was a much more casual one, the sweet Caramel color echoes the shades from my enSvale hoodie and work well with the sexy denim mini from Maitreya. Casual plaited hair from DejaVu adds to the relaxed feel, as I chose to wear the London Heels with out the second attachment, providing a new look for the shoe which can be worn both ways.

Visit Redgrave to get some London Heels, and view the other great footwear from Viola Leigh.

Glamour & Glitter from Redgrave

The holiday season has passed, the parties, the special events and most certainly that seasonal sparkle that seems to happen right around the holidays and usually fades after New Year's Eve, giving way to the blah grey unbearably cold winter still in full swing. It was just prior to New Year's Eve when the REDGRAVE girls had a major release that included a quad of glittery little dresses accompanied by matching shoes with glamorous details. With the madness of the season I neglected to share them with you, but catch up time is here.

These 4 dresses have all the sexy body hugging photo-real texturing that the REDGRAVE woman has come to expect, and some nice options such as multiple skirt styles and accessories that make it possible to style the dress to your own liking. The shoes in matching hues have both gems and feathered tails to max out the glitz factor. Sisters Viola and Emilia have proven that they can collaborate their color palates to create virtual head to toe dressing for female and male avatars.

Even with the absence of full on party season these looks will keep the spark of celebration in your wardrobe, with plenty of sex appeal to inspire a night of dancing at the hottest clubs, or romantic date with a special individual. If you are looking to add some post holiday sparkle and shine, you might just find that look at REDGRAVE.

A Holiday Wish

Tonight marks the beginning of Hanukkah, The Festival of Lights, for some of us. I just wanted to express my sincerest best wishes to all my friends, family & dear readers of 'On Your Toes' at this special time of year. You make it a pleasure to spend time in Second Life, and no matter which holiday you are celebrating, or even if all you are celebrating is great shoe shopping, please enjoy the season and appreciate the small moments with the people you care about. Here's hoping you find all the wonderful things you deserve, now and in the year to come. ~ Anessa

StyleCard: REDGRAVE Girls' Biker Boots

Sometimes a girl just needs a change of attitude, and today my attitude was inspired by a song and some great boots. The boots arrived by way of Viola Leigh, the talented little dynamo who is producing footwear at a breakneck rate lately... and don't I love it! The REDGRAVE Girls' Biker Boots are just about my favorite grunged up high heeled boot to date. Well worn leather is as sexy as ever in this well shaped boot, I love the unbuckled and flopped open upper boot with it's fleecy little lining. They are the type of boot you don't want to take off, I assure you, and the early reaction I got when wearing these was huge... a must have boot in the Black or Brown, and tempting in the additional shades; Caramel, Olive, Sand & White. My humble pal Jonny reviewed the men's version here. (click pics for biggie size.)

I styled it up with the new Bijou 'Vain' set, it has a hint of great military style and sculpted short pants under a system skirt/hooded jacket combo. I added my own touches, damaged fishnet stockings from Dutch Touch (part of PuK set), Cachet Gloves, and the Tweed Flat Cap from The Hat Shop. Skin is Redgrave and Hair is Maitreya. All poses are from Oberon's Trick, a great little find. Oh, and the song is this one here, catchy huh?

The best of the best....

Over this rather busy weekend the I was rather spoiled when I was named the Runway Magazine Male Model of the year. This rather prestigious award I was not expecting to win after I had won the Best of SL award for Top Male model, and came as a complete shock. In all though I say thankyou to Maggie and Ocean and to their panel for selecting me from all the hardworking models out there, it truly was a nice way to cap off the year. But on top of that I got to wear some new (and yet to be released) items from the amazing girls at Redgrave.

The Dirty Biker boot has been getting worked on for a while now, and as Viola promised me, I was amazed when I saw them. Having an image in your head when being told about these boots, was certainly one thing, but actually seeing them in world and the amazing realism was quite another. I have tried boots from all over, but these are among the most realistic ones I have worn in SL. I was glad that I could look at these with my new PC and graphics card (but I wish they would update SL to work better with the newest cards on the market, because other than having less lag and things I actually have more issues with crashing now than I had on my 2 year old previous machine, but enough whinging from me!)
The Redgrave Dirty Biker boots I am showing in the Night and Dirty Sand tones, howeve there is other shades such as Forest (a soft green tone), Mud (a gritty brown tone) and Soldier (army camo tone) versions. The boots come with 2 fitting options of loose and Tight fits, but I found the loose version to be easier to wear as it didn't require as much editing of the jeans. The clothes I am wearing are theRedgrave Grunge jacket with shirt and scarf, Biker gloves (1/2 finger) and Sporty-Pants Nylon/Belt in Moss Green. These items all follow the same high level of realism as the boots and it is great to see new additions to the range and I can't wait to see what else Emilia has up her creative sleeves. Also I couldn't leave the girls out and had to show my girlfriend Cynthia wearing the soon to be released Redgrave Cord-Sequin Mini DRESS -Black- which I totally adored. So if you are after some boots with a high level of realism, go and check out these boots today, I assure you wont be disapointed.

These Booties Rock!

The little elves over at Redgrave have been working overtime to bring us more incredible shoe releases. Miss Viola Leigh is the head elf, and these yummy Icerock Booties have her combining wood, leather, metal details and fur. Available in 5 standard shades; Black, White, Brown, Caramel, and Lilac... and a very special Santa Red pair only available until Christmas, and for a very special price. I marched myself over to Tim Horton's to grab some Hot Chocolate and then stepped out rink-side on Retrology. These perfectly sweet booties are a fun way to kick the holiday season off in style.

Polar boots from Rdgrave

So upon going to Redgrave with my beautiful girlfriend Cynthia, we went and had a look at the latest shoe and boot releases by Viola Leigh, some of which were recently shown by Anessa in these very pages. However, there was one pair that haven't been shown in this blog yet, and co-incedently, they were the pair that caught Cyn's eyes.

These were the Polar boots, and they are also available with matching arm cuffs as well. As it is coming into the cooler, Winter time of year in the Northern Hemisphere, these boots certainly will appeal to the girl after some footwear that is casual, seasonal and chic. I applaud Viola and her efficiency in releasing at an rapid rate, with each subsequent release being of a high quality which is what the Redgrave label is renowned for.

Upon wearing the boots and armcuffs (and nothing else), Cyn had an idea spring straight to her head and she decided to take a pic of her wearing the boots and Wristbands, and the result is what you see above. So if you like the boots and/or arm cuffs featured in the pic above, head over to redgrave now using the following SLURL.

Hot kicks at Hoorenbeek

OK, so having seen that Anessa and Graci had been busy today with the blogs for the girls out there, I couldn't let the guys down and made this post on the awesome shoes found at [hooreenbeek]. I first bought a pair of their initial sculpted shoes back in March or April and got to sample some of the newer pairsin the range thanks to Limer Frederiksson and I must say I was impressed with the level of detail in every pair I tried on. The pair in the above photo is the Slip on Checkers, and these shoes have a script that enables you to be able to change various facets of the shoes personality to fit your mood or outfit you are currently wearing. I donned them with the outfit I had on at the time and a simple tweak allowed me to match them up perfectly with what I was already wearing, and it is versatility such as this that adds to the value of the shoe. Being a more casual slip-on style shoe didn't impede me from wearing them with the more refined clothing I had on, and I think it kind of enhances the overall casual feel of the outfit, adding another dimension to it.

The next shoes featured are the ones which caught my eye the most and had been in my shoe wishlist for a while - the [hoorenbeek] Air Force, this time featured in Grey/Red. This classic style is pretty much a recreation of a RL Nike shoe, and I must say that the creator of this shoe has done the design great justice bringing them to SL (and I still wait patiently for a perfect recreation of a pair of Jordan VIs or XIs), hopefully this recreation is a sign of things to come.

The next style shown is the Superstar 2.0 in White. This style dons the famous Adidas 3 stripes and this homage to the classic Adidas sneakers harks me back to a time in my childhood when every young kid was wearing things like Adidas Romes around. This version of the sneakers however are a more modern style, with different tongue texturing in contrast to the leather sections of the shoe. As with every style featured in this blog today, the level of detail and craftsmenship is amazingly high and you can cam for ages taking in the detail.

The final style I am showing today is the Cowboy boot in Serpent. A perfect match to my Muism Snakeskin pants, these boots are highly detailed sculpts that give a look of audaciousness to the wearer. You fear nobody walking about in these badboys! They are also available in a variety of other colours, I just like this pair for the sheer outlandishness and my seemingly strange affinity to SL animal print clothing. If you are (most likely) a person more into tamer styles you should definitely check out some of the other available versions of these boots as they fit well and the quality is as high as any other pair in SL.

Overall I hope that this blog informs you out there in fashionland that there is a multitude of footwear available for guys and you are no longer stuck wearing the one pair of shoes everyone else seems to be wearing. With these designs I can see that the hard working designers at [hoorenbeek] have come a long way since their initial sculpted shoes and I look forward to what is to come in the future.

StyleCard: Redgrave & PC

Birds of a feather flock together, and shoes of a feather are just plain fabulous. How timely the release from Redgrave of these Feather Heels at the exact moment that Paper Couture launched it's aviary themed Fall 2008 collection. This Night Heron Dress somehow eluded me on my first visit to PC, but as soon as I saw it I knew just what shoes I would wear with this sweet feathered frock.

Viola Leigh does it again, and this time with a bit of sparkle as a bright gold chain and 'V' signature charm adorn the feathery ankle. The heels come in a nice assortment of shades and they are an elegantly shaped shoe that combines sculpted and traditional prims seamlessly. My accessories are also from Redgrave, the Hanging Chain set which includes earrings, rings for each hand and a necklace (not worn here). The hair is ETD, and the price is irresistible with the current sale going on.

If you have plans to pick up some of the new Paper Couture be sure and also pay a visit to Redgrave for some of these heels, after all, Holiday party season is right around the corner!

StyleCard: REDGRAVE, Oh My!

REDGRAVE has always been a favorite of mine for the quality and the cohesiveness of their lines of clothing, skins and footwear. Recently I was contacted by Viola Leigh, the creator of the latest series of footwear under the REDGRAVE label, and have been lucky enough to see the new offerings close-up. The result, 4 great new styles and 4 StyleCards for me! (click on images to enlarge)

The first of these new shoes is actually referred to as a the Winter Boot (shown in orange), but it's one sexy combo of an open toed pump and a knit and buttoned upper portion. The cozy upper with its slouchy appearance and 3 oversized buttons actually comes with part attached to the shoe and the topper as a separate attachment. I paired these with a sexy Jersey Dress from League, which I wasn't nuts about when someone suggested I buy it, but completely love on my av. The Mirai Fuka Hat and Hair are just too cute and I tossed in my Lassie lunchbox from Illuminaire which I am not certain is still available... but you get the idea.

Next in line is the hot little sandal called the Glamour Heels (here in blue). This is the perfect little shoe for a hot club look, and comes in 2 packs featuring the gold and silver variations in the color you choose, gotta love that kind of thinking. I loved wearing mine with the *M*A*ii*K*I* leggings in yellow and this great tank from Kenzie&Co. The chunky necklace and bracelet from ICoN round out my dance floor ready look.

I cannot hide my love of leopard print, and these Wildcat Heels sure feed that desire. I choose the gold variation here, but I adore the pink and blue versions too. Sexy open toes, double wrapped ankles and the sleek metallic gold heel make these a favorite. Worn with, what I think is a first for me on the blog, a dress from PIN UP Dolls, which is my own creation (as my 'business' avatar Pin Upshaw). I am not really into blogging my own stuff but made an exception here because I loved the way the shoes worked with my 'Leopard Love' cocktail dress. My accessories are a great necklace and earrings set from Caroline's. Hair is Armidi.

Last on the list, and certainly not least, the Patent Leather Heels, which come in super shiny patents and croc embossed versions too. These are a great looking shoe, I am a fan of the white contrasting trim and ties, and the unique style of a straight laced look with a sexy open toe. Here the black croc version is paired with a mash-up of items including a Last Call top worn with the cute newness of a pencil skirt from Fetch Alternative. A simple beaded necklace from Ume Mode and the sexy Detour hair rounded out this last style of the series.

I fine crop of footwear from REDGRAVE, and all very reasonably priced. Please visit the store to see these, and the full color range, close-up.

Amazing new Redgrave shoes

As I heard from a few friends that there were new female skins being released at Redgrave, and me needing to keep my finger on the pulse of new releases, I decided to go and take a look at them. But little did I know that I would be rather shocked and see that there were newly released shoes from Viola Leigh.

I saw these shoes and immediately knew I wanted them. So I took the plunge and grabbed a fatpack of the Cowboy Loafers, as from experience, my boots tend to be alot more versatile with my clothing of choice than sneakers usually are. Now where to start with my descriptions about these amazing boots? Honestly, I have to say these boots are truly amazingly detailed, and the sculpted prim work by Viola and the textures are just as amazing as every other item I have purchased from Redgrave.
However, it wasn't just these boots that were new to the market. there is also the Elegance shoes, which as depicted in the promo picture above, have been designed to match to the Redgrave Elegance suit (one of my all time favorite SL suits). What is more amazing though, is the vast range of colours available, so you could quite easily buy the fatpacks and have shoes to fit a variety of different moods and styles, from classic elegance, to a more formal business look, to a simple casual look at depicted below.

Lastly, there is also a new sneaker release to coincide with the cowboy boots and Elegance shoes. these sneakers from Viola. As in every shoe release so far from Redgrave, the detail is as high as can be, and these new sneakers are no exception.
Once again available in a variety of colours, you will not be stuck for choice, and the bright eye catching colours will allow you to stand out in a crowd with ease, as that is what you all want to do at times in sl. I would have to say, that these are among the best shoe releases I have seen so far this year, and I am amazed at the quality of them once again. Anyone who complains about a lack of mens shoes should do themselves a favor and pick up one of these styles today.

Also Viola was kind enough to show me a teaser of one of her upcoming womens styles, and I must say, I can see alot of women returning to Redgrave to pickup some of these new soon to be released styles. I would also like to thank Viola for sending me some of the pics I have used in this blog.
