2Real's New Kicks!

2Real is a new name in the footwear market, but he's coming out strong and steady!  His first pair made my top five favourite sneakers list and his second pair is even more amazing, I think.

The texturing is damn near perfect, and I only hesitate to say it is perfect because nothing is.  There is a HUD included when you buy them, and you can customize each section's colour.  The shoes themselves are fitted with a resizability script, and each pair comes with both a men's and women's version too.  Also, they're only L$600 Lindens for them, with all these options!

A Week of Top-Fives: Day One, Sneakers

I was going to do this on my blog, as part of my week of favourites, but you know what? Shoes are way too important in my SLife to only pick five pairs. I mean, I can pick five in each *category* of my shoe inventory, and I could not figure out how I'd ever narrow that down. Then I had a brainwave and I decided that instead of doing only five on my blog, I could do five in each of seven categories, every day of the week on this blog! See how the cheater of her own blogging rules will justify herself, not to mention getting around those aforementioned rules?

Anyhow....

Today we're going to look at sneakers. Before I show you any, it should be noted that most of these are a blatant ripoff of shoes found IRL. People can debate the morality and legality of that all they like, but I'm not getting into it here.

These are Akeyo's Low-Rise Chucks. I've had these forever, but I still love them so much. There's other versions, I know, and they're probably great. But even *I* try not to buy shoes from different people that are like virtually the same (when it comes to sneakers, anyhow). What I love about these is that I can have the laces open or closed. And these are scripted to colour-change as well.

Hoorenbeek Nylon Trainers are fairly obvious as to their inspiration, but it's pretty cool that I can own them in both RL and SL. These come in a bajillion colours, though sadly not in a colour-changeable fatpack variety. They are scripted for resizing though.

The Soreal Superstars were one of my favourite releases last year, and in fact I got them just before I went on hiatus, just in time to feature them for something I wrote. Though I can't actually remember where I featured them (it was on my blog or in Second Style magazine), I do remember squeeing with delight when I got them. These are fully scripted for colour-changing and sizing, and I absolutely love the slightly beat-up look they've got.

Urban Bomb Unit was for a long time *the* place to get these real life replicas, the Porn Stars, no one else really made them. While there are others now, and they're great, the Porn Stars somehow manage to stay at the top of the heap.

A new kid on the block, 2Real Okelli of 2Real has released his first pair of shoes, the aptly-named Diagonals. They come in lots of colours and designs too, and they're very well done. He's self-taught as well, which is really impressive. This is definitely an up-and-comer to watch.

Stay tuned for my post tomorrow on ankle boots!

Weekends are for comfy shoes, or they should be. The lady behind League, Nena Janus, made my weekend a whole lot comfier by releasing two styles of lace ups with a whole bunch of personality. The League Shin Boots and League High Tops are both equipped with color change features for individual parts of the shoe; Laces, Toe Cap, Sole, Main Body, and Buttons. You can also work the left and right shoes separately for more personality. The shoes are designed to be unisex styles, and the High Tops feature a single attach version to be worn with prim pant cuffs.

A fun new release from the collaborative cobblers, Melanie Zhao and Lissa Maertens. The ZHAO Shoes Sk8rSneaks are a hot little unisex shoe with nice artwork and color combinations for almost anyone. The playful shape inspired me to take a fun little trip to the market, stopping to make a phone call along the way. Yes, the hair is blue, but the shoes made me do it, I swear. Look for multiple designs available on this shoe.

Some Bargain finds...

So my friend Zach comes through for me again and sends me these cuties that he found when walking the street...you know, XStreet. The coolest part is that the HOC sneaker wedges found above are 30L's and the Cheeky Shoes were 25L! Now while both shoes have a great price, there are some differences, which makes it tricky to lump in one post.

Lets start with the Sneaker Wedges by Guu Nishi of HOC. First off, they are a tenni-wedge, and as the notecard that comes with them states, they are made completely by Guu Nishi, who believes that, "free or low price items should not be of low quality, our items have taken many hours (or days!) to create."

Now as far as the Cheeky shoes go, these are prim toed stilettos, they also are color changing, not only the skin or the toe polish, but the shoe themselves. They have a unique system for matching colors that I haven't quite seen before. Unlike the Sneaker Wedges, these shoes are created by purchased sculpties and textures.

Kellyo Mayo, the creator of the Cheekys states in the enclosed notecard, "I freely admit I did not create the sculptie or textures for these shoes I bought them.  I modified a few textures and added the scripts for the color changing balls.  These are a decent pair of starter shoes with feet in them.  There are far far better shoes with sculptie feet in them..."

So there you go, available on XStreet for a bargin price if you are in the market. I personally am now in love with the Sneaker Wedges and think that for the price the Cheekys are quite nice.

Truth: Trainers and Freebie

Yes, it is the truth! Truth Hawks just released some cute new trainers that fit both the male and female foot. The only hiccup is that you really should have the latest version of the SL viewer to see this shoe correctly. I'm technologically challenged, and can't explain why, but without the new viewer the shoe looks like it's missing some pieces. But let me tell you, once that is taken care of, what a cute cute shoe! Additionally, check out the free Balmoral pumps as previously blogged by Nessa. Yes, these lovelies are free and come in a nice selection of colors. Check out Truth InWorld and OnLine.

Freebie: Hair by Truth, Outfit by *Icing*, Skin by Redgrave. Trainers: Hair by ETD, Hoodie by Truth, Shorts by Armidi, Skin by Redgrave.

StyleCard: SOREAL

Time to welcome a new face to 'On Your Toes'. Volcom Praga, KMADD Stylist, will be appearing from time to time to help us cover what's new and fashionable in men's footwear for our little blog. No time like the present, and SOREAL's much awaited follow up to the City Steps was a perfect opportunity to get this guy to show off some amazing footwear. The new Superstars are a great classic 3 stripe sneaker, with hyper realistic details from perforations to worn leather effects, and front to back perfect styling. (click image to enlarge.)

Volcom's casual look consists of some Aitui pants, a fun 'Rock is Dead' Tee from Gutta, Kari's Crate Digger shoulder bag and oversized sunglasses from VintageWear (VG Republic). Some great tattoos and new hair from MUISM help add up to a great look.

Look for the Superstars at SOREAL.

StyleCard: DETOUR & Zooby's

I have been walking around in the new Daywalker Sneakers from DETOUR for a couple days and trying to put together the perfect outfit to wear with them. Well, last night the most wonderful accessory landed in my lap courtesy of Bryston Vanvleck of 3B Designs and the incredibly talented Carrie Tatsu of Zooby's. My sweet little puppy, BeeBee, arrived in the most amazing Pet Carrier, 'The Z Bag'.

No fashionista can afford to miss out on this one, it comes with a complete array of scripted changeable components; 10 unique bag fabrics (3 shown here), metals, accessories such as key tags, buttons and a toy bone for doggy are all optional and modifiable. And since you can mix and match all the parts the possibilities are limitless. The bag does everything and the puppy is delicious with it's cute little face peeking up at you, typical of the Zooby's quality we are used too... but truly something special. I lurv it sooo much, and I had never even considered pet ownership in SL.

Back to the shoes, the DETOUR Daywalker Sneakers are a great casual sneaker in white and suede combos, a nice assortment of muted of the moment colours like cranberry and taupe and an 'all color' pair with the bonus shade. I matched them up with some great jeans from /artilleri/, the sweater and scarf set from Snatch which is so versatile. Accessories (aside from little BeeBee) include; a belt from Orchid Dreams, Mahjong Bracelet from Fresh Baked Goods, and some Black Bangles from Caroline's. Hair is the jumbo ponytail deal called Aina from Mirai Style.

Be sure and visit Zooby's for a little friend of your own, and DETOUR to get some sneaks to take it for a walk in the park!

The Stuff; Redgrave Skin, Mirai Hair, Sn@tch Sweater Set with Scarf, /artilleri/ Jeans, Accessories by Orchid Dreams, Fresh Baked Goods and Carolines.

New Muism Sneakers

So, I have to begin this blog by saying thankyou to my magnificent girlfriend Christieanna she gave me a giftcard to one of my favorite stores in SL, Muism (thankyou Nicholai for helping her choose) as a rezzday present. As a result, I had some shopping to do and saw there was some new items available!
So anyway I went around the entire store, grabbing a few items which I didn't already own and some of the new things that were out.

After Sending my NC off with my giftcard purchases, the amazingly talented Icemocolo Voom informed me he had new shoes he was releaseing today and kinda gave me a couple of pairs to sample as a gift (it is my rezzday afterall as it is Monday here already).
The shoes as you can see are sculpted sneakers that are very well detailed. They remind me of something I would wear in RL and they are quite impressive. As you all know I love to wear new shoes and these will go well with quite alot of the casual outfits I tend to wear from time to time.

As for the clothes, I got wayyyyy too much to actually depict here. So I went with clothes that would match the shoes the best, and pulled out my old biker pants I bought on release a while back, and they went well with the new shirt I bought.

So as you can see once again, Icemocolo has done an amazing job in creating some new items that look highly detailed and go well in combination with each other. I think that Christie's reaction to the new Leather Blazer and shirt look as "Thats Hot!!" says it all really.

Cherry Picking

Just a quickie, but surely a cutie for a Monday morning! I popped into DETOUR this morning on a whim and saw these neat Mixflip Sneakers, since my inventory has been a bit sneaker rich of late, I opted to grab only one pair... and for me it had to be the cherry plaid. There are 5 looks available as single pairs, or a texture change set that includes a 6th look. Really great realism on these puppies!

If you are a sneaker fan these are well worth a look at DETOUR.

Also wearing; Minnu Skin, /artilleri/ Hair, Top (from Jen set) and Bracelets, Gouchos by Crush Factory, Black Bangles from Caroline's. Second image is a direct snapshot of in-store vendor created by Detour Sideways.

Get FNKY!

Cheesy title, hawt shoes... 'tis the way of the world my friends. And where have I been lately? Waiting for some shoe-tastic thing to show y'all. I won't be the first or the last blogger to tell you just how fantastic these Racers from FNKY are, but I might just be the only one who can actually claim boyfriend abuse in the process. That's just how I roll.

I managed to get Caelen Mata to agree to help me with this post, guy can't even go on vacation without me finding ways to make him work. Being the awesome professional that he is, he was actually more than happy to go along with the plan especially after seeing the shoes in question. The unisex Racer Sneakers come in 12 colors, 2 sizes in each box - customizable further by touch - and 2 laces options... tied and without the knot thingy which would be preferable if they are showing through your cuffs.

They are sexy and stylish, and a nice sneaker that manages to escape the grunge of so many out there at the moment... they can easily crossover to more upscale casual with the right outfit. Creator Funk Schnook manages to amaze my toes once again, and his pricing is bang on at 500 LaLas a pair, and all 12 pairs for only 2000 LaLas...who's complaining?

Go be gettin' yourself some of these soon @ FNKY!

Beary Cute Sneaks

Ran into these Poo Bear CHUX the other night while shopping and just couldn't resist sharing them with you all. High-tops are all over the grid right now, and the amazing ones by Coke Dreadlow's UBU have garnered some well deserved attention. These likewise, created by Severely Ltd. under the names Juwan Lane and Maruko Sakigake, use sculpties made by Coke. The ones I am showing off come complete with an adorable Teddy Bear lashed to the side of the right shoe and a cute hand scribbled flower on the left one, they are scripted for size change too. There are 4 women's styles available in the JuJu's Closet shop at 'The Cube', and one that I presume to be unisex available in WMD (Weird Monkey Designs) just across the way. I have included the in-store displays so you can get an idea of these other looks.

Look for these cuties at JuJu's Closet!

***UPDATE! I was informed after this post that 3 additional content creators have added to the CHUX Collection, more man friendly looks and an great music themed sneak too. You can find all of them here! Thanks Juwan. :-))

FNKY News

Sale Alert! Maybe it's just news to me, but yesterday I discovered that FNKY has marked down it's footwear collection by, as near as I can tell, as much as half price (if someone knows for sure I'd be happy to post the details). I've been eyeing the T Strap pumps for a good while now, and was happy to grab these pink ones up for the very reasonable sale price.

Also noteworthy, the great men's shoes - some of my favorite ever guy's casuals -have been marked down, along with the unisex Kicks, an all around great suede sneaker.

Shop the Sale at FNKY.

Also wearing; Minnu Skin, Aden Hair, Kitties Lair Mini-dress. Armidi Tights, Creamshop Earrings, Bangles by Argyle, Bracelet by Yummy. Images are captures of store displays created by Funk Schnook.

For the Boys... and Girls.

Ever since my co-blogger Joel has been under the weather, On Your Toes has been keenly lacking a dose of testosterone. In an attempt to remedy this situation, when I caught sight of this piece about SOREAL on the Vain Inc. blog - I decided to gather up the troops and make a day of it. Lucky for me I have an address book just overflowing with the hottest male models in SL! I was lucky to catch Jonny Tobias and Steve Hansen online, and they generously agreed to follow me and Graci on a window shopping trip around 'Fashion Mode' legend Ashlin Leandros' new San Leandros sim, scheduled to open in all it's shopping glory this coming Saturday.

SOREAL
creator Kwamey Pinion (pictured below) has really done wonders here, both the sculpty work and the texturing are incredible... the City Steps Sneakers look so real I was tempted to peel open the Velcro closures (yes Joel, Velcro!) just to hear that familiar sound. If you have read this blog before you might recall I rarely go anyplace without a pair of stilettos on. But these feel good... so good. They look perfectly at home on male and female feet and come in fantastic color combinations and fabrications, available singly, in multi-packs or the ultimate - a colorchange HUD option that lets you have all 13 looks in your footwear arsenal.

SOREAL is still in it's early stages, only a few items up for grabs at the moment (including the black and blue jacket Steve is wearing) but make note of the name - I expect some great things yet to come.

The Art of Casual: Sculpted Sneakers

Unlike women, men don't usually build up large collections of shoes, so every pair has to be something a staple, whereas women can mix in some haute couture to diversify their collection It's for this reason that several of my posts here at On Your Toes are going to be for men who aren't sure what the "must have" items are. First and foremost? A good... no... a great pair of running shoes.

Guys seem to finally "come into their own" in Second Life once they have a solid casual look that is both versatile and unified... and that look will depend largely on their footwear. With that in mind, you can hardly do better for a clean, casual look than to invest in a pair of these Sculpted Runners from Redgrave for Men. Made in the style of a modern-generation Puma (check this photo to see what I mean), this shoe is loaded with realistic detail and is very versatile. More than just laces and stitching (both of which are excellent), the texture shading and highlighting show off the muted low-gloss leather surface. To look at them, you can almost feel the material under your fingertips.

I personally recommend them with Redgrave's Dark Blue Jeans or Khaki Cargo Pants and a a beaten leather, suede coat, or sportscoat. Brave souls may try these shoes with a quality suit, as their clean lines and unscuffed surface will keep you looking professional, but they're best shown off when you look like you just pulled them on as you went out the doo. They come in red, white, brown, blue, and black and ring in at L$450 apiece (L$2000 for a fat pack of all five colors). Go grab 'em here: Sculpted Sneakers at Redgrave Men's Fashion
