StyleCard: Tuli

When beloved content creators expand their lines of clothing to include footwear it is always worth a look, and is just the kind of thing that I feel is worthy of sharing with 'On Your Toes' readers. Tuli Asturias' shop was one of my first real fashion finds in SL, I instantly loved her bright colored tops and great jeans. She is a master of skins and of beautifully textured garments, and it seems she has tried her hands at shoes with pleasant results. To be fair, and by Tuli's own admission, these shoes are a melange of sculpts she has collected from multiple sources and combined into her own uniquely styled and textured footwear. I see absolutely nothing improper with that method of creating footwear, provided that the sculpts are from 'clean' sources and the creator takes steps to create something uniquely styled from the resources.

The recent release of the adorable pop art inspired mini-dress named Coco (available in 3 shades; Amethyst, Cerulean, and Pink.) was accompanied by the release of the TULI Strap Pumps in matching colors. Tuli makes it easy on those of us who want the perfect shoe for a given look, and I like the look of the separately attached ankle strap. I wore mine with this great new hair from ETD... note the scripted headband that conveniently was equipped with more of that great purple. One simple bangle set from Cashmere and the silver spike earrings from Paper Couture were enough eye candy for me with this look.

Sasche Flats

Every new release from Armidi creates a stampede over to the store. Shoppers show up in droves and fight the lag with enthusiasm (ok maybe not really enthusiasm, but they tough it out none the less). So I, like so many others...ran over and had to get my hands on the new goodies. These Sasche flats are adorable, and great quality. Available in many colors, I picked up the pearl. These are another shoe that would be great dressed up and dressed down (as shown here). If you haven't picked them up, run on over. I bet the lag isn't as bad now (I'm an optimist). Rare Beauties

Maitreya's latest, called the Mishima Dawn, is named after a rare exotic orchid... how fitting. This pump with ankle boot aspirations is the most amazingly complete shoe yet released by Onyx and Beau, and the fit is awe inspiring. The colours are muted and earthy, the textures run the gambit from soft to speckled suedes, and rough to high shine patent leathers, and crocs... all of which are rendered with undeniable precision. Shown below is the Patent Tan, my personal fave.

There are 25 variations in all, some -much like the Slinky Stiletto- come with optional steel heel accents. Mighty Aphrodite...

This weekend was full of fashion events and show, enough to make a fashionista dizzy with delight. On Sunday I attended the New Shoots II show presented by Metro Modeling Agency and Second Style. Featured were the designs of GHOST!'s Triangle Caudron and Aphrodite Outlander of Aphrodite Creations.

This is the part of the story where I have to admit what a flake I can be at times. I know that I've seen the Aphrodite shoes previously, because they looked so familiar to me, but as I was looking on which pairs I wanted to buy, I did a quick inventory check. I always do this when buying things anymore; because honestly there is so much stuff in there I'm afraid I'll buy a duplicate item. Well wouldn't you know, in my *GRACI REVIEW THIS* folder there were shoes from Aphrodite!!! What a heal I am! No pun intended. Yes, it's true a couple weeks ago Aphrodite dropped some styles on me and I dropped the shoe on this one.

Catalyst Boots at Abyss

I have a secret, I look at your feet. Everywhere I go I inspect the feet of others. It's only natural, I mean... you never can tell where you will see great shoes, and with so many releases every week I am bound to miss something. So happily today I inspected the feet of some poor unknowing shopper and saw these. Now I must say I do have one pair of over the knee boots in my inventory, I like them, and I wear them for costume purposes mainly. But I saw these, and had to admit to myself that I liked the sleekness of them. So I introduce you to my find of the day, the new Catalyst Boots from Abyss.

They are smooth, so smooth - like buttah! And though I am usually a sucker for detail, the simplicity and great shape of this boot was the clincher for me. They are completely monochromatic, and deliciously rubbery looking - with a nice sheen to them. I was amazed at the fit - I did not have to touch my shape for these - and I barely had to adjust the upper boot piece (for height only) to get a fantastic seamless appearance. Colors are; Black, Hot Pink, Red, Cyber Blue, Silver, Pale Pink, Ice (Pale Blue), Poison (Purple). My RL sister, and SL Fashion Addict, Jhuzen Ketsugo came along for the ride - and agreed to pose with me. Thanks Sis!

For the Boys... and Girls.

Ever since my co-blogger Joel has been under the weather, On Your Toes has been keenly lacking a dose of testosterone. In an attempt to remedy this situation, when I caught sight of this piece about SOREAL on the Vain Inc. blog - I decided to gather up the troops and make a day of it. Lucky for me I have an address book just overflowing with the hottest male models in SL! I was lucky to catch Jonny Tobias and Steve Hansen online, and they generously agreed to follow me and Graci on a window shopping trip around 'Fashion Mode' legend Ashlin Leandros' new San Leandros sim, scheduled to open in all it's shopping glory this coming Saturday.

SOREAL creator Kwamey Pinion (pictured below) has really done wonders here, both the sculpty work and the texturing are incredible... the City Steps Sneakers look so real I was tempted to peel open the Velcro closures (yes Joel, Velcro!) just to hear that familiar sound. If you have read this blog before you might recall I rarely go anyplace without a pair of stilettos on. But these feel good... so good. They look perfectly at home on male and female feet and come in fantastic color combinations and fabrications, available singly, in multi-packs or the ultimate - a colorchange HUD option that lets you have all 13 looks in your footwear arsenal.

SOREAL is still in it's early stages, only a few items up for grabs at the moment (including the black and blue jacket Steve is wearing) but make note of the name - I expect some great things yet to come.

Under Lock and Key...

I was delighted when Rowan Caroll from She's So Unusual, recently sent over a folder with her new goodies from January, and threw in a pair of Brown Suede Chain Booties from the December release. Although Rowan's store name speaks for itself, I admire her flair for mixing the unexpected with classic looks.

Take the Chain Booties for example, the classic short boot enhanced with silver accents, such as the metal heel and all wrapped with a chain. Completing the look is a little lock on top with a dainty red heart. How did she know the key to my heart was through my shoes???

As for the newer items at She's So Unusual, the Silk Bow tie heels are a cute, dress up shoe that comes in several colors. These are a great addition for the upcoming spring dresses, and are a steal at $95L a pair. Speaking of steals, if you are a fan of flats, check out the new Chinese Flats, only $50L!
