Go Bare with Maitreya!

Maitreya Bare Feet @ On Your Toes

It's not always about having fierce shoes... sometimes a girl just wants to have pretty feet. The avatar foot has to be one of the ugliest body parts. Even with a great skin, the foot is still awful. Enter in the prim foot. There have been several prior to Maitreya's new bare feet, but I have to say these are my favorite.

Maitreya Bare Feet @ On Your Toes

Like all Maitreya Gold shoes, a HUD is included for skin and nail matching along with an up to date notecard with values for a number of skins. Also included are anklets for each ankle and scripted toe-rings. The Maitreya Bare Feet are available in tip toe and flat foot versionsand make me want to wander the grid barefoot all the time.

Visit Maitreya to check out these Bare Feet.

Stepping Dangergously

Full2

With this being my first post here at “On Your Toes” I thought it fitting to showcase of the most delicious shoes as of late I have had the pleasure of wriggling my pixel toes into – the Sock & Tights version of Salience by Maitreya – shown in Liquorice.

MaitreyaCollage

Maitreya is well known for the cutting edge, and remarkable styles of shoes, Salience was released previously in a bare foot version, but these – are fun, sassy, and ever-so-brilliantly done – each pair is with socks and tights – a wide array of colors (shown wearing the “socks” version in Silver Blue with the Black opaque knee socks.)

The outfit was built around the shoes! Richly textures, billowy and soft, the is by LeeZu and skirt from AMD – the perfect addition to show off silvery soft blue and black socks chosen – accessorizing with MOOD’s Drops of Rain earrings wraps this look up. Stepping Dangerously is without a doubt a fierce look, offering femininity and flair with every step.

Visit Maitreya for Salience and other incredible footwear.

Fergalicious Footwear

What is bright, patent and python, all at the same time? The new Fergie Python shoes from Mentine, that's what. The Fergie Python by Valentine Biddle, come in a rainbow of glossy bright patent leathers, with mix and match multi-tonal python straps, nice nail polish shades and more. A eye catching chunky heeled sandal with two or three python strap design, the straps come lined with a secondary softly colored shade that peeks out enough to be seen on closer inspection.

This casual and fun sandal will add a pop of color to low key outfits, or compliment brighter summer styles with a bit of flair. I am wearing the new boyfriend shirt, and a cute denim mini from Maitreya. The hair, a must have from this year's Hair Fair, LeLutka's Nicole with colorful scarves braided into it, and the delicate Amanti Jewelry from MOOD, complete the look.

Visit Mentine to see all the available colors.

The stuff;

This Is Love.

I believe in love. No matter how many times love chews you up and spits you out, I firmly believe that there is someone out there for everyone... maybe more than one, or in Second Life... at least a clean half dozen in the average SLifespan. So what does one do when they are faced with the possibility of Valentine's Day alone, or lonely, or both? You go back to what you love, and for me that is blogging shoes, and great fashion and beautiful skins. One of my first loves in SL were the Linda skins from PXL, and Mr. Hart Larsson, that talented and very charming fellow has won me over again with the stunning PXL Linda G3. There is something to be said about a man that can make a woman feel beautiful, and my first gift to myself today was this beautiful skin.

I also love rediscovering old favorite stores, and things that have been sitting in my 'to wear' folder for months and months. This past weekend I happened upon a small shop named CentoPallini, it was new to me and I instantly loved the Valentino Hat, which looks to be molded from dark chocolate and is festooned with bows, gems, more chocolate in a heart shaped box, and cupids arrow skewering the whole works. Easy peasy, gift number two for myself is settled upon. I dug the rest of my outfit out of my many folders of clothing, with a beautiful Veschi Jacket, Maitreya Bodysuit and accessories from Donna Flora. But you know me, and my outfit is never complete without something 'on my toes'.

It was really very hard for me to find something newish to blog, as I have been away for a little while and missed some great things, and it seems that there haven't been many new releases this week (I suspect most of my favorites are gearing up for the next Shoe Fair... more on that soon.) So I started TPing around for some inspiration... I found them at SLink, and yes they have been out for a while, but they are completely gorgeous and I never managed to grab a pair before today, gift number three for me, the beautiful Paloma Pointe Ballet Slippers. Now it seems I am ready to dance my way into the next unsuspecting heart, and I didn't have to wear loads of pink or bright red to do it.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone, treat yourself to something special today!

At Peace With The World

There are few mornings where we can wake up and take a few moments to appreciate the wonderful world we live in, take a deep breath of chilled air and sip a hot mug of something, before our day gets crazy with the normal business of the season.

It was the recent release of the gorgeous Shearling Boots from Maitreya that inspired this little outing, and even in these cold temperatures, the comfy lounge wear items just out from Mon Tissu and the scarf and mitts from League were all I needed to step outside and appreciate the quiet beauty of this morning.

Viva Les Espadrilles!

I saw the tease for the newly released Espadrilles from Gos a few days ago, and as soon as they were released I had to grab them. I love the many available colors and the playful mix and match capability, not to mention the very affordable fat-pack set. Ribbon wrapped ankles are a personal favorite style, they are sweet and sexy at the same time.

I was able to match my espadrilles to the rest of my summery sweet look, the new skirt from Maitreya with it's wrapped belt seemed a great match, a simple tank from Surf Couture with ruffled detail and more cute skin and hair from Mynerva and D!va respectively, complete the look.

Be sure and visit Gos to grab some Espadrilles, the vendor display is as cute as the shoes!

Wrapped Up

Maitreya Gold has released something extra special this week, the Aequus Heels are by far the most elegant stiletto we've seen from this amazing line of shoes. A sleek design with a sexy as heck shape, that beautiful prim foot, and slender heel, these shoes have a great texture with just the right amount of sheen. The Aequus feature a suede ankle wrap that can match closely the tone of the shoe, or contrast with a bit of color to enhance your outfit, I have shown the shoes both ways here. As always Onyx LeShelle has selected some beautiful colors and combinations, making these very hard to resist, and combined with the spectacular LeLutka Summer 2010 Collection you just can't go wrong.

Another Kick.

Still cruising through those beautiful Allure shoes, and this time it is free of the socks and tights, stepping into the naked foot version of these great shoes. The foot in the Maitreya Gold shoes remains one of the most realistic available, with subtle shading and skin texturing beyond compare, they also boast one of the most user friendly HUDs for customizing.

I am not sure why some designers have not yet adopted a similar system to the Maitreya Gold, but it should be said that it is a feature that I would like to see included on more 'high end' brands, regardless of price, if your customer's opinions matter, I would wager many of them would prefer the simplicity of a colorful graphic system. SL is at its core a visual platform.

That said, the sandals are an easy style to dress up or down, this time I went for a more classy dressed up feeling with one of the newest clothing items from Maitreya, the Bubble Skirt Dress, and the gorgeous new Siri hair.

Visit Maitreya again soon.

The Stuff;

Shoes:
Maitreya Gold, Allure - Red.

Skin: LeLutka, IFE, Light Makeup 1D (hairbase).

Hair:
Maitreya, Siri, Chocolate.

Outfit:

Loving It.

More of those new Maitreya Allures, this time the sock version. I pulled them together with a very relaxed look, including the Maitreya Boyfriend Jeans, a pretty ruffled cami from Nylon Outfitters, and some new chunky silver accessories from Mandala. I even managed to find this really fun crimped hair from MrS, and I love the heavy cropped bangs. The shoes come with 2 size options but can still be resized to fit any avatar, and loads of colorful sock options, though my favorites are the basic white. It is just an all together great outfit for running around the grid, and once again no need to skin match.

Visit Maitreya for the shoes.

The Allure.

Maitreya's latest release of footwear and fashions came at just the perfect time, I am not one to spend a lot of Lindens lately, but the beautiful palate and predictable quality of the items makes it much easier to enjoy the shopping trip. The newest from Maitreya Gold Footwear is the Allure, a beautiful and very 'now' style sandal with a zippered closure up the heel. It also comes in a few variations which pick up on the more recent trend to wear socks and tights with your sexy heeled shoes.

There was a time where the sight of someone with hosiery and sandals together was almost laughable, but the trend seems to have stuck, and with the new 'underwear as outerwear' collection from Maitreya, it is much easier to embrace. I chose the Allure in a lovely SeaGreen shade, green tends to work well with so many colors so when deciding on just one pair these were the ones for me.

The Allure come with a full assortment of 12 shades of full length tights and shorter sock versions too, and best of all no skin matching required with this style! In addition to the many hosiery options included with the shoes, a sexy gartered version is included with the belted girdle available as part of the clothing release. The overall look has a sultry boudoir feel, but the spirit of the collection can be reinterpreted and worn with more mainstream garments.

More Allure to come, but visit Maitreya to get a closer look at these styles.

The Stuff;

Shoes: Maitreya Gold, Allure - Tights, Seagreen (Powder).

Skin: LeLutka, Estelle, Sunkissed Makeup 6(D).

Hair: Tukinowaguma, Jenny, Brown.

Outfit: Maitreya, Bodysuit de la Ruche, SilverBlue & Maitreya Girdle and Stockings, Salmon (worn with Powder stockings).

Accessories: Donna Flora, Bice Ring (Tinted Silver) & Encore, Knotted Pearl Necklace, White.

A Week of Top-Fives: Day Four, Heels

Heeeeeeeels! I love them (in SL :P) and there are so many freakin' amazing ones here, it was a sonofabitch choosing just five pairs!

Maitreya came out with their gold label this summer, I think. I wasn't around so I may be a bit off, but I'm pretty sure that's when they debuted. Anyhow, these Shanti heels are just amazing. They were one of my first purchases when I came back, and of course I had to buy the fatpack. It was a must. One of my favourite features of buying from the gold label is the fact that included is a notecard of common skin creators, and the numbers you need to have to match your foot tone to your skin. For the tonally challenged people like me, this is fantastic.

Nardcotix released these Ashoka plaid heels not too long ago, and they go very well with Phoenix Rising's Motive outfit, as the plaid matches the plaid in the corset. The ruffle is fantastic!

Very recently, LeLutka held an amazing fashion show, probably the best one I've ever seen in SL. One of the featured items was these amazing Saffron heels, though they weren't yet available in all of the gorgeous colours and combinations that they are now. I think this navy and tan combo is my favourite one, but there is so much to choose from it's hard to decide for sure.

Shiny Things hasn't released anything for awhile now (sadface, where are you Fallingwater?!), and these Belles were released at *last year's* Shoe Fair. I still love them to itty bitty pieces though, so they definitely get a ranking on my personal top five.

Every girl needs a classic pair of stilettos in their inventory, and these Maitreya Slinky Stilettos fit the bill perfectly for me. They're of course available in like a billionty colours, and they're just elegant and understated, but so well executed, it's a crime to not have them in your inventory.

Hope you liked today's post. Stay tuned for that other staple, flats, tomorrow!

The New Gold Standard

It is with much delight that I can finally present a new shoe from Maitreya's Onyx LeShelle and Beauvoir Rousselot, I has been far too long. The brand new Maitreya Gold Footwear Collection launched yesterday with three spectacular foot-in-shoe styles. The new shoes are as beautiful as one would expect from Maitreya, and the foot is hands down the most realistic I have seen, lifelike skin texture - easily matched to a list of popular skins or custom matched by hand from hue, saturation and lightness quotients. Another lovely feature are the nail polish options that go beyond the basic color selections to actually include multiple natural nails.

The shoes are available in single color options or bundles of shades if you can't settle on just one. The Shanti shoes (shown above in nude) are beautifully textured and feature wrapped and wrinkled ties that are absolutely gorgeous, all balanced on a stacked wood heel. The shoes are available to demo which is a very customer friendly touch, especially for shoes of this quality and price, it is important to be able to see what you are paying for.

Please visit Maitreya Gold to fully appreciate these fabulous shoes.

The Stuff;

Shoes -
Maitreya Gold, Shanti - Nude

Dress - Donna Flora, CRISTINA - gold

Skin - Gala Phoenix, June Sundust, Frex/Dark - Doe 1

Hair - Analogue Dog, Gamma

Accessories - Styles of Edo, Chocolate Pearls & LoveSoul Nails.

Billowing Love, Maitreya.

When it's Love, the real thing, you just know it. Call me crazy, but I fell in love with some boots today, and only Onyx LeShelle and Beauvoir Rousselot can cure my lovesick heart.

Onyx was kind enough to send me some of that love so that I can share it with my On Your Toes faithful. Yes, this is another tease. But don't worry it won't be long before the Maitreya Billow Boots are available for purchase.

The Boots are just sensational, but what else can you expect from Maitreya. The leather is soft and and the details are perfect. Multiple colors will be available, 3 sizes and a resizable version too, these are the tan version (I wear a medium)... I was in such a hurry to get them on and shoot some pics for the blog that just wore them with what I had on.

More info to come after the release, scheduled for Saturday.

Hot New Release: Maitreya

It's always a happy day in the life of this shoe girl when I get the heads up from Onyx LeShelle that a release is forthcoming. And since I had been teased right along with you by a photo of the 'Frenzy', in a version called Banana, a few weeks ago... the frenzy I can assure you was quite real when I caught sight of them on the model's feet during the Footwear Expo Runway Show yesterday. Well, the shelves have been stocked, and here they are in all their amazing-ness, beautifully made, unsurpassed attention to texturing and detail... ladies and ladies, we have a winner on our hands... err... toes!

Maitreya has gone as far as creating 4 unique style ways for the shoes; Trends, Blends, Fresh and Balanced, below I have shown just a few of my absolute favorites. There are bright hot 80's inspired shades, classic Black & White, and plenty of fresh neutrals to suit every taste. There is a wrinkled and a smooth upper variation, and they come with a resizable pair too. Selected styles are available at the Footwear Expo Booth, the full range is available at the mainstore.

Nestled dead centre in the booth, the Virtue Sandals are a limited time item, available only during Expo, all proceeds from these shoes go to ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). So in addition to some spectacular sandals, you get the warm fuzzies for helping a great cause. No complaints from me!

Bananarama!

Yep another brilliant title for this post... but what does it mean? Well it's time for another little tease from 'On Your Toes'. Since you all loved the last one so much! And isn't it true that all girls really just want a nice banana? just me? okee. As you can see by the logos inside the shoe this tease comes by way of Maitreya. No firm release date as of yet, but I plan on parking myself in the store and holding a banana fast until Onyx sets the 'Frenzy Banana' Sandals up for sale. I'll let ya know when it's time... just watch the ground for banana peels, I cannot be held responsible for broken ankles and bruised buns!

I am also wearing; PXL Skin, Magika Hair, Random Top, MAiiKI Sculpted Leggings, Creamshop Earrings, Fresh Baked Goods Bracelet.

Rare Beauties

Maitreya's latest, called the Mishima Dawn, is named after a rare exotic orchid... how fitting. This pump with ankle boot aspirations is the most amazingly complete shoe yet released by Onyx and Beau, and the fit is awe inspiring. The colours are muted and earthy, the textures run the gambit from soft to speckled suedes, and rough to high shine patent leathers, and crocs... all of which are rendered with undeniable precision. Shown below is the Patent Tan, my personal fave.

There are 25 variations in all, some -much like the Slinky Stiletto- come with optional steel heel accents. The group below are just a small sample of these wonderful 'ankle boots'; Top Row L-R: Patent/Suede Liquorice with steel accent, Patent Bistre, Shiny/Suede Black, Bottom Row L-R: Ruff Leather Blue, Ruff Leather Green, and Patent Auburn.

Get these beautiful shoes at Maitreya.

Also wearing; Minnu Skin, Hair, 'heart' Cupcakes Dress, G.L.A.M. Tights, Miam Miam Purse, Acessories by Caroline's and Paper Couture.

Same amazing shape and unmatched workmanship, colour changing trim with some different shades, amazing textures - I love them more now, yes I do. Available in 8 shades.

Maitreya also released a huge assortment of Prim Socks, sculpted slouch sock accessories with open toes that will work great with the ChiChi, the Verve... the Slinky - must I go on? There are 19 shades, head over to Maitreya to see them all.
Also wearing; Detour Skin & Hair, Armidi Sweater, Artilleri tank, G.L.A.M. Jeans, Calla bracelet.
