Horrible Histories

For those of you that haven't already, i recommend having a look at this series. Whilst it's a childrens programme (shown on CBBC), i really enjoy it and love the way it combines education in history with comedy. It's one of the sorts of things i'd absolutely love to be involved in when i'm older. I've struggled with finding school unbelievably boring throughout my life, and feel that this is something that the majority of students have to deal with, although some do better than others. But simply by looking at what is generally regarded as a serious subject with a comical stance, one can further the knowledge of young and old people alike in every corner of the world and make it enjoyable. I'm a huge fan of comedy and really feel that alot of the time, people just take themselves too seriously for their own good. The reason why people do most things are so that they can enjoy themselves. For instance, charity work is undergone to help the less fortunate lead a more enjoyable life (ie. they're not dying of hunger); Politicians put forward acts and discuss current ethical issues so that people can eventually agree, be at peace and therefore enjoy themselves. I just feel as if we're missing the whole point of why we're doing alot of what we're doing most of the time: to put a smile on people's faces.

Lots of love
Lucy
